Doctor Who - A Journal of Impossible Things (Novelized Version)

And Orange Blend, in case you're wondering, your journal isn't damaged. I'll be using a new leather strip for the binding, but the cover and pages are just fine.

I'm sure it's just fine. :) I look forward to it. Too bad I have to wait until I'm back from my trip!

Yep, it turned out quite nice. I'll just keep it on my shelf until you get back, I don't mind.

Thanks, Nick. Here it is all ready for screen time.

It came out a little dark on the gloss paper, but I am very happy to have it. And on the correct book!

Looking good!

I love how you have a copy of my cover before I do :p

But I guess good things come to those who wait, from what I've seen the colors on the one I'm getting are absolutely perfect thanks to JKolton.

Good luck with your shoot.

I'm a perfectionist, so I'm still undecided about how I'm going to offer my design up. If the quality of the print varies significantly from the one I get from JKolton and one that's printed up at Kinko's, I probably won't offer my file up, just because I want my covers to look perfect. So, if the quality difference is great enough between the pro and Kinko's prints, I'll probably end up doing a run of covers, prewrapped on books.

That said Risu and WarMachine are still working on files themselves, so if you're not down for a run, they'll be able to take care of you.

I'm still just waiting for my print to come in though before I make my final decision either way.

-Nick

I'll offer mine up once I fix the brightness issue. Kinko's did a wonderful job on the print and I have no complaints whatsoever. I don't know how I'll host it yet though. It's 3.5 MB.

thank you Risu, 4shared is the best and easy place to upload less trouble for all and its free

I just lightened the parts that were too dark and replaced my journal image with Nick's and printed it out. Unfortunately, the parts I made lighter looked exactly the same and the journal image, which I attempted to make purple in a different way to avoid covering it in noise, came out really flat. To add insult to injury, the cutter at Kinko's was broken and cut a nice jagged edge across the top.

Damn, looks like I've missed a fair bit while I've been gone. Family hospitalization, esophageal cancer, not good, but everything went well with the surgery. A plus side is that now I have time to be on here again :D

I've done bugger all to my cover for about 2 weeks due to not being around much. Hoping to get it finished this week for sure. I need to cross this off my list of things to finish.

EDIT: Just checked my emails. Thanks for sending that journal picture, Nick. You rock dude. Also, loving the fact that your foot is in the shot haha :D

And now a Public Service Announcement to bump this thread.

Right now, There is a copy of Torchwood: Pack Animals sitting on a shelf in SC. It hopes that one day it might have a nice cover jacket of The Journal of Impossible Things to keep it warm.

Please help me in making this innocent book's dream come true.

Thank you .

Sorry, I'm still not happy with my dust jacket design, it's got a couple of issues. I'll try to work on it a bit tonight and then I'll upload it.

I'd hook you up too but I still haven't finished it haha. Been too busy to do pretty much anything lately. Working on too many things at once. Between that and life (and raising a kid) I just haven't had time to finish.

OK, I finally finished it. It's a 33 mb .tif file. I'll have to upload it in a couple days though, because I have to nuke my computer from orbit after a devastating viral attack earlier tonight. Luckily, I managed to save all my files. Yay!

Awesome. I still haven't finished mine lol. I suck at getting back into projects. I shall get it completed easily enough, I just need to sit down and tell myself to do it.

Sucks about the viral attack, I had one a few weeks ago. I'd never seen anything like it, some program installed itself through a website and none of my programs would open. I started deleted folders created around that time like crazy. Had to delete a few registry things too. Got it sorted in the end. At least all of your files are safe, that's the main thing.
