I never asked for payment. I just wanted the community to have an opportunity to get these. I was offered two sets, as a nod for the work I put in, but I never received those. I did get three BR badges out of the blue one day in the middle of the process, but I'm not sure what that was for/related to. lol

Wow, and he shipped that first run, started a second run, and never gave you your set. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of work did you do for him with this project? Is it possible someone could start a new version of this with your work (without recasting/stealing any of HIS work of course)?

I've found that when scanning large numbers of pages in a thread, that something that makes the Links stand out more makes them easier to find.

There's a fairly decent replica set here. Not perfect maybe, but not too bad.

What differences do you see in the Amazon set as compared to an accurate set? The painting/finish of the pieces, soft detail, innacuracies in the underlying pieces themselves, or...? I went ahead and ordered a set, but am interested to know. If Slash-5's run happens, I'll get that as well and possibly give the Amazon set away after repainting it.

<update> Slash's set is made from refined casts of the original pieces. Gordon's set has more refined detail, and appears to be enhancement to the original design.

The Amazon set has detail that is inconsistent with the original pieces. Rather than scans, they are clearly re-envisioned pieces. Someone's IMPRESSION of what the pieces should be like. The overall appearance is nice, but some of the fine physical details are different than the ACTUAL real world pieces.

The Amazon set has detail that is inconsistent with the original pieces. Rather than scans, they are clearly re-envisioned pieces. Someone's IMPRESSION of what the pieces should be like. The overall appearance is nice, but some of the fine physical details are different than the ACTUAL real world pieces.

Just to add to this the pieces of the Amazon set are also about 70% of full scale so the Wrens are only about an inch and half tall. I bought this as a stop gap and the set is disappointing but at least I now have the new Hoyle's set coming thanks to Slash-5's efforts.
