Unlimited Run Blade Runner 2049 Officer K JACKET/COAT by Magnoli Clothiers

This is looking superb... :eek

However, a couple of minor observations (I'm sure you're sick of them by now, don't hate me :D)

The shoulders are definitely padded on the original jacket under a panel that is quite shallow and curved around the shoulder.

Above almost looks like the panels follow the basic shape of a shoulder pad, like the pad is stitched into and forms the basis for the shape of the panel.

See below for rough approximation of what those pads probably look like.

Panels below are too deep and travel too far down the arm.

This is the ONLY reservation I have at the moment, and you've probably noticed this already :D

So it's not left understated, absolutely stellar job so far. Just a minor tweak or two left. Thanks again for doing all of this.

Hi I'm interested into your coat, it is amazing. I would like to know if you have some faux fur list from which choosing the one for the coat, if this is possible, because is the only thing I am not sure about. Thanks in advance

Hall86, yes, we've noted the shoulder panel shape and will be adding padding as well.

@Ag KappaWe have other faux fur options, but we've picked the best of the available choices. If you'd like to see alternative choices, feel free to e-mail us to discuss.

Great job on the coat, all the observations on the minor details are top notch. I'm very much interested but I want to have the same distressed look as the film. The nubuck achieves this but it's not the same dark green. The green waxed cotton almost looks the same as the film it just doesn't have that faded/distressed look (which probably came from them laminating it and painting it). My preference would still be the waxed cotton as that's closer to the film.

Also the faux shearling looks good, but aside from the fact that the film version is dirty/roughed up, it looks like a slightly thicker type shearling... are there other faux shearling options that might be more similar?

Thanks!

Last questions, I swear. Do I have to account for the overlap when it's closed in the waist and chest measurements? Also, how can I do the bottom measurement so that it is slightly open at the bottom when worn closed?

I want to have the same distressed look as the film.

After a little wear (to get all the natural creases to settle into your coat), you can dust the seams with fuller's earth. For the faux shearling, they used shoe polish to darken the fur for a more aged appearance. You could do the same if this is the look you want.

Just provide your normal measurements. The front overlap is part of the pattern and a coat will naturally flare open like this when not fastened. For example:

Oh, damn, one more question. Would polyfill bulk it up too much? Would it look inaccurate?

Eh, ordered anyway. Still curious about the polyfill, but my order is in!

Will the final jacket have magnets fasteners like the original?

Another question from Me, Indy (I know, I know: this is the part where we all start hitting you fast with questions lol)

Can the COLOR of the lettering on the back be adjusted to something like a (faded version of) either black or dark navy lettering?

I think Indy had said you can have magnets and hook like the film or a button front.

Can the COLOR of the lettering on the back be adjusted to something like a (faded version of) either black or dark navy lettering?

Since these are each individually made, I'm sure you could do the lettering however you'd want

agian, these are all made to order so im sure you just specify for each jacket what you want. The jackets shown are strictly what those customers have order

:thumbsup

It would bulk it up a little bit, we could do a thinner layer, so you still have some extra warmth, but not a lot of extra bulk.

Will the final jacket have magnets fasteners like the original?

Yes, as Mechanized2400 mentions, we can do this several ways, but the hook/magnet combo is the screen-accurate option.

Can the COLOR of the lettering on the back be adjusted to something like a (faded version of) either black or dark navy lettering?

The printing will be done a shade darker than the color ordered (or in the case of black, it'd be black-on-black). The printing will look darker in most cases, but when the light reflects off it, it can appear lighter than the fabric due to the more reflective quality of the print over the cotton.

Fantastic as usual Indy! How heavy would you say both versions compare weight wise? I'm sure the heavier nubuck version feels lighter when wearing. Without any extra lining do you think one would get too hot if walking around at your local comic con?

The nubuck version is definitely a bit heavier and warmer, but not by tons. You could definitely wear this coat in moderate weather and indoors where air-conditioned... but wearing this during a summer comic con... it'd be hot, but a lot less so than a lot of helmeted costumes folks where at these! At the end of the day, if you're planning on getting this for both cosplay and regular wear, the nubuck version is absolutely gorgeous. If I were to get one of these myself, I'd probably forego screen accuracy and go for the nubuck, it's such a beautiful leather.

this is lookin' real, real nice. :thumbsup

quick question, as far as i can tell, in the screenshots, it looks like the left side breast flap and the "wrapping" flap are connected along their bordering edges. will the completed coat feature this? apologies if this has already been addressed, i didn't see any specific mention of it.

EDIT: yeah, i'm not entirely sure how, if it's just stitching or what, but it looks like the wrapping flap is connected along the border and folding down behind the breast flap. also, it appears that the underside of the collar might be extending out a bit too far.

Oh mannn ... Whoa! :eek
aeonpulse, if I'm understanding you correctly (and I think I am) then I completely agree with you! (NICE going!)

I don't think anyone else making a replica of this coat has caught this detail, either...

And you can see the stitching that connects the 2 parts in this picture:

(Magnoli, I hope it's not Too late to have THIS modification made to MY coat... but please let me know!)
