Thanks for the help!
That neck seam-line is just a linear reflection in the plastic. It looks good from an angle I'll say thay but I just noticed the mold seam running down the neck piece. As it is, it's a good addition to what looks like a really extensive collection. Well done.
I bought the new Kenobi BS helmet purely for a display piece. It’s not bad for what it is. My only real complaint is the dome is just so thin, it looks funny. I whipped up a quick three-tiered stand for it out of some scrap wood the other day, just for giggles. The last pic is it displayed as one piece.View attachment 1617025View attachment 1617026View attachment 1617028
How did you make the widows peak?Got the paint run sorted at last and have started to polish the dome. I need to get some filler on the inside of the dome to smooth out and disguise the edge of my extension piece but I'm pleased with how this has turned out so far. I still plan to have a bash at thermo-forming some red lenses at some point, but that's for another day!
You'll have to excuse the unnecessarily elaborate stand. It's a tall candlestick and doesn't really suit a Sith Lord, but it was the only thing I could find big enough to support the helmet for the photos!

I went ahead and pre-ordered the new helmet. Wish they would just make the helmet right in the first place. I just started to turn my extra Black series helmet into the damaged vader helmet. Ever since I saw that last Kenobi episode, I was really tempted to try doing it. Its looking really good so far to me.
As for the damaged spot I used blue painters tape to out line the general shape with the ripped ends of it. since it created a more natural damaged edge look. I was thinking about how to fill the gap and first thought was bondo, but anyone got any better ideas since the damaged side is now being held in place by one screw, I could always re-glue it after I tint the lenses and finish the dome but really open to suggestions. Also the electronics will still work! Made sure not to cut any of those components or the meet points by accident.
Man, that looks amazing.
Exploded display is the best!I've seen other's do the exploded/tiered view as well, and I think it's the BEST way to display this helmet.
I used a repurposed 'demo' switch from a Halloween sound activated prop, added some length of wire to go from the neck to my hand and used a plug connector from an old RC helo. I made a hole in the undercarriage of the neck, so it is out of sight, and I just plug in when wearing it, and unplug when done. so now I can discreetly use my thumb/finger to activate the effect. just need to now fill in the space around the button and repaintHi, I am looking to tweak the button for the breathing sound. I'd like to make it an on/off trigger button. Is there a solution for that hidden in that super thread? Reason: Currently sound stops after some breaths.
I searched for it but whether I used the wrong search terms (as a non native English) or being to hasty, I haven't found it.
