I really am contemplating whether to get a Head Goonie or Magnoli jacket. What's the differences?
I'd wait until Headgoonie announces and shows off their 2026 jacket.

Yep, 2021 version was really close to perfect and if they still made them I would get one. The 2023 version is worse.
2023 Headgoonie vs 2021 Headgoonie vs Guess
The blue denim the 2021 jacket used was nearly identical to what Guess used. I compared the colors in person on a correct color vest. However the main body parts were way too dark. And the base dye they used was incorrect. The real thing has a good amount of purple in it. The shapes of a few things were also not great. I sent a bunch of pictures and notes to Headgoonie earlier in the year so hopefully they put them to good use.

I wish there was someone who just made a good jacket in the first place. The manufacturers really should ask people what they think before they finalize the product. Then again, I don't know much about garment production or the Guess jacket itself, compared to you guys.
It definitely would benefit them to review their work more before committing to certain design choices. As well as run it by fans. I do not know why they have taken steps in the wrong direction, but perhaps they will improve with what they know now from the pictures and advice I told them about. And as far as I know, they haven't really made much improvement on their vest. As of right now, Magnoli Clothiers will have the best one since they have made patterns from a real Class-5 vest. Only leg up they have is that they were able to find the right type of snap fasteners. It's a very specific type that I have been unable to find.

Very true, 2021 has been the best replica so far but there are still so many things to improve on. Hopefully he puts your notes to good use. Really hoping they get the pattern and colour on the grey denim correct, it makes or breaks the jacket.
2021 had the vertical line texture pattern like real Guess jackets from the early 80s, but still looked a bit too neat. The real thing is not as clean, it has inconsistencies like some light "wrinkle" patterns randomly scattered around the jacket. Would love to know the exact way Guess was able to get that stonewashed look.

Perhaps they crumpled the jacket into a loose ball before stone washing it.
Acquired this. It will arrive on Tuesday. No solid plans for it yet, but the gears are turning.

I just noticed; does this mean the back panel of the jacket will be white with the motor cycle on it like the original jacket?

My Paris Express jacket is a light grey acid wash with dark grey leather shoulders. If I ever see one of them again, I'll let you know.
I am not sure. It might just be specific to my project because I requested it. It's likely for regular production they will use paisley fabric for the back liner. But if you request the dirtbike I'm positive they would oblige.
