If there are no good shirt options at the moment, we could certainly look at doing a run in ready-made sizes... possibly as low as $115.
Please do, lol there’s like only one option available right now which is the Max Cady but the fit and material is off and cheap. If there are no good shirt options at the moment, we could certainly look at doing a run in ready-made sizes... possibly as low as $115.
I know the original shirt is supposedly made by a brand called “Shah Safari.” It was known to be a bit loose especially on the sleeves. Marty wore it with the sleeves folded up twice - three times from the looks of it on screen.Well, if we go with standard sizing (S, M, L, XL, etc), fit is going to be tricking anyway. I'll do some legwork and see what we can do.

Do you think the shirt was a mens standard-sized shirt and that's why it looks loose on MJF? There are a couple of Shah Safari shirts available on poshmark and ebay, none exact, but one has elbow-length sleeves.I know the original shirt is supposedly made by a brand called “Shah Safari.” It was known to be a bit loose especially on the sleeves. I’m not entirely sure for the fit of the body, but the sleeves are the noticeable features as the cuffs sit at the elbow or slightly below it.Do you think the shirt was a mens standard-sized shirt and that's why it looks loose on MJF? I would assume that is correct in assessment. MJF is tiny. It would be like putting a kid in an adult shirt. A Men's small would probably looks baggy on him.Do you think the shirt was a mens standard-sized shirt and that's why it looks loose on MJF? It wasn't "supposedly" made by Shah Safari Worldwide, it was made by them. The sleeves on the shirt are cuffed normally, I think.I know the original shirt is supposedly made by a brand called “Shah Safari.” It was known to be a bit loose especially on the sleeves. I'm just now looking at MaxCady's closer... it's just lighter gray bars, not the hashing that it's supposed to be.

Yeah that’s also another problem with Max Cady, they forgot to incorporate the hashing look to the checked pattern.I'm just now looking at MaxCady's closer... it's just lighter gray bars, not the hashing that it's supposed to be.View attachment 1927367
I guess it was just a one-off pattern. This is the real deal.Do you think the shirt was a mens standard-sized shirt and that's why it looks loose on MJF? There are a couple of Shah Safari shirts available on poshmark and ebay, none exact, but one has elbow-length sleeves.
Arms are from a corduroy 86, right? This technically counts as a similar project so I'll post it here before I make a new thread about it within the next day. I am making a jacket for a family member of mine. The vest is a size 14 so it doesn't fit me. I am getting the pieces together and London is going to sew it. I have a couple items I need still. I'll detail everything in the new thread. View attachment 1928274
That could look really good. I wish you luck! This technically counts as a similar project so I'll post it here before I make a new thread about it within the next day. Yes. The denim color doesn't match perfectly to the vest but I'm not too worried about it. Some liberties will be taken.Arms are from a corduroy 86, right?
Still the strangest fabric combo I've seen yet...Yes. The denim color doesn't match perfectly to the vest but I'm not too worried about it. Some liberties will be taken.
