I think you should make little bits of garbage to come floating out, along with a tiny Slave I. :lol
[/b]

Excellent idea Superjedi . I will make a slave one and a Falcon in scale with the ISD .

I did not a lot of progress this week end :(

But I did this small parts : a reproduction of a Morser Karl part (1/72 Hasegawa), used on the both side of the neck.

This part is about 1/2,25 the size of the original part (my ISD scale is 1/2,36 studio scale, but it was better to use 1/2,25 for this small part).

I will cast it for the other side.

TOX....

HOLY MOLY... YOU are a MASTER MACHINE.... UNREAL...

I know this isn't Studio Scale,... but you have me seriously thinking about that $2300 price quote a few responses earlier.. Admiral Piett Signature?? Do tell please? What country would you be shipping from? France?

I mean....OK.. I am going there...... DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE...

Yes she's not studio scale, really too big lol I think I should get tooooooon of kits to details a studio scale ISD 2 :D
And it would be too big to put in the living room lol

I think this one could be almost in scale with the studioscale ISD 1 . It would be nice to get the both ISD together .

Maybe one day I will do another one and I sell her .

She could be get a nice place near your DS II :D

Anyway thanks =)

I can't post pics of the progress this month since my parents have taken the camera :(

Not to hijack your thread, but we gotta get that DS II built first. I'm excited..but I'm also cautiously optimistic. Waiting till March is turning out to be torture, but it can't be helped.

I need room to build it and Kurt will need room to put that big-azz ball AND any Star Destroyers which may be on the horizon.

But as far as your SD...

I'll say it again: FAWWWWWWWK. :D

Hehe no problem, I'm very interested by the DS II project and I can't wait to see pics of her .
A long time to wait lol
I saw your surface painting tests and they are really nice, this model will rock .

*hides his 40 cm diameter DS* lol

Don't hide it. :D

Thanks for the compliments on the tests. They were fairly easy, being on flat pieces of cardboard or plexi.

We'll see how much more difficult it will get on a curvature. And that exposed incomplete internal deck detail will be tedious and tough.

I decided to take the link to the DSII blog out of my sig, since project start is still 6 months away. No sense linking to something that isn't going to be updated till then.

I now return the floor to you, my SD-building friend.

Very Kewl TOX.

Yeah... March is a bit to wait to start on the DSII. Bob (HandSolo) and I are just finishing the planning of, and agreeing on, the budget for it. LOL...

Now back to your talents...

I well appreciate the hard work you're placing into this 41" Beastie and know that doing another would tax one's patience. LOL... So.... my bottom line is that I think your work is AWSOME and I would SOMEDAY love to own one of your large scale SD's. There is no rush and it would be a wonderful thing to add in the future. So let's keep in contact, eh? :p

Europe is a place I have never been. I was due to go on tour there during this summer and my plans got changed to Russia instead. When I am able to go to Europe, and take time,.. I would like very much to meet you in person if possible? Being shown France by someone who lives there would be a hugely better experience as well. LOL. Plus,.. I am a HUGE Disney fan and that is one, of course, I haven't been to..lol. I am just a big kid I guess... and a major sci fi and fantasy geek to boot. LOL. In addition,.. to see that 41" Beastie you're building in person, ... that would just make my day. :D

You have some REAL talent dude. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You're an inspiration.

I too would one day like to meet Julien hes become a good buddy and we keep in contact regularly, hell hes such a likable guy lol,i wanna see the falcon myself, France is so close to me, hey lets arrange a geeks day out in Montesson hehe. Did you get the parts yet J ?

Thanks all :)

Kurt, no problem we keep in contact =) I let you know when I'm ready to start it hehe but not before a while lol =) But it's not important, the main project is the DS II :D
And when I saw the Hand's work I guess she will be great (big and great, that's what I love :D)
Sure if you go to France let me know, it would be a pleasure to visit Paris with you . And go to Disneyland Paris :p (you're a lucky man my girlfriend lives just near Disney lol).

And Lee... you know I'm waiting for you here :p Hehe Montesson is the countryside lol But I can go to paris in 10 min, it's just fine.
I hope to meet you soon bro, and maybe it will be to take a flying burger with you . :D It would be nice .

The only one problem is I dunno if I could speak with you lol Or you should speak very slowly . :p

Anyway thanks .

LOL...Tox... Julien.... May I now call you Julien?

You must have a great english teacher or one heck of a good translation software. I spent 4 years studying French and still can only count to 10.... LOL. :confused I have to rely on translators,... my brain just doesn't compute linguistics well. :p lol.

I look forward to the day of our meeting and going to Disney Paris. I love the countryside,.. Montesson sound very nice indeed. Maybe we should have a geek-out day as Lee suggested?.. LOL

I always said his english is better than mine lol, I sucked at French at school, maybe i can count to ten and ask for a pencil lol, im sure ill manage Julien lol. As for the geeks day out Kurt, yep sounds wicked, but im a flake with rides guys, they freak me out, ill maybe just stick to meeting Mickey. :p

Sure you can Kurt :)

He guys, I learned German for 10 years . And I don't know if I could count to 10 lol Shame on me . :p

I sucked too at english at school lol Wanna know the truth lol ?

I had an english exam last month. It was a video about the making of King Kong. (yes Im editor lol). And... I understood nothing what the guys were speaking about . I thought I failed my exam lol
Reading and writting is one thing, speaking is another lol And understand ppl speaking english is very hard to me :( You speak too quickly guys . Be relax . lol :D

Well lol, I can't post pics cuz I dont have my cam, but I did some progress, the connection neck and the bridge are glued, and this part is almost done .

I will begin to detail the upper structure now, hehe it will be a big work :D

Get the camera back yet Julien? :confused

NO BREAKS FOR YOU MR.... LOL.

Naaaa... just wondering how you're coming along? :p

It's about time... Someone scratched a model part..

I don't know how many times I've heard of a project not going forward because they were looking for a part from a model that they could scratchbuild in 5 minutes.

This thing is kick ass.

Hello .

No I dont get the cam back, my parents come back in 2 weeks :(
This week end my GF and me had to go to the Star wars exhibit for the second time. But She forget her cam. We will go to the exhibit last week end and I ll take pics of my ISD =)

Yes REL that's my problem with my 32" Falcon. I would like the right parts and I didn't progress since I didn't get ones lol.

But for my second project, this ISD, I'm trying to replicate all recognizable parts.

OK, now let's speak about the ISD :

What are done or in progress :
- the hull is scribed
-I'm scribing the roofs of the superstructures
-The brim trenches are done (thanks Ralphee ;) )
-I started to detail the upper superstructures, but I'm waiting for several kits bought on ebay.
-Bridge and neck done
-electrical system (wiring+ LEDS) done

What I have to do :
-complete detailling of the superstructures
-build the engine area (I don't know how build the bells... since I have no lathe :/ I will try with the top of pepsi bottles lol)
-build the secondary hangar bay
-find the domes (I found them with correct diameter and number of facets but the company told me the shipping costs to france are $85 for one 3/4 inche diameter .... Whereas it's only $10 for US ppl . I will never pay $85 of shipping for a dome which cost $7 lol But there is the only company who do the right dome :/
-complete the mounting points (at least 2, on the lower hull and one on the right brime trenches)
-drill all wholes to put the optic fibers
-paint her . And she will be done .

One last thing lol

I bought a very cheap 1/700 warship on ebay which I didn't know it. (Made by Revell).
When I get it, I opened the box and I were very disapointed . Crappy kit lol But while I was checking my ref pics, I found 2 parts from this kit .
My deadline is october. I think I can do it :)

Welcome buddy :p On the engine bells, Lee Justin used torch lenses, the shape is great and they will be way stronger than a pespi bottle, try pick up some cheap torches buddy.

On the engine bells, Lee Justin used torch lenses....[/b]

Well, Lee. I ain't usin' a translation program, but me brain tells me that you mean 'flashlight reflectors' in American Anglish. :D

I can see how those would work well and be easily available.
