Interest Tobin's Spirit Guide by Magnoli Props!

Added a few more entries, wrote introductions to each of the chapters (thank you, ChatGPT!) and added a bunch more woodcuts.... now up to 207 pages... including a fun write up about Slimer (thanks to thegreatgalling). It's coming along nicely... wouldn't mind having a few more helpers though. ;)

Any Gothsicles fans? Probably not appropriate for Tobin's, but i couldn't help myself when this came up on the playlist while working on this project.

Spectral Warrior. - Colloquially known as the one second ghost, most accounts of this spirit come from soldiers and mercenaries. They tell of an individual or small group who appear to become incorporeal when they are attacked. The flashing specter rises in place of the corporeal form for one second, during which time it attempts to eliminate any perceived threat with torrential wrath. There are no reports of anyone discovering the corporeal form while the ghost is present. The specific ritual for invoking this power is not know, but there are tales of a song. If you have the misfortune of encountering this awesome spirit, your death is likely imminent. If encountered, seek shelter and let the corporeal form pass. If you must engage, focus solely on the corporeal form, avoid the specter.

For those of you wondering...

Magnoli Props - Are you separating the newly-discovered entries from the ones that would have been historical or contemporary when Tobin's was first published? For example, Slimer would not pre-date the 1920s...is it some kind of supplement to the original text?

Thanks for taking this on! Can't wait to buy my copy!

Slimer could be an old ghost. Just because he's been seen in the preset doesn't mean he wasn't seen in the past too. He haunts an old hotel, maybe he's been in the hotel since 1890's or pre 1920.

The book is dated 1929. Anything after this period will NOT be included (so no Stay Puft Marshmallow man, for example... and also several manifestations from the RGB will not be included as there are no pre-1929 references to them). Other ones, like Slimer and Ivo Shandor are both VERY close to this time period, but are active before 1929, so they will be included and worded in such a way that it's clear they are contemporary phenomenon/personalities.

I did a bunch of work last night and added another 20+ pages.

Totally fair point. Works for me!

Omg, I’ve dreamed of this book since I was a kid! I AM IN for the full version…!

I saw earlier you were having some difficulty sourcing Russian/Slavic/Eastern European entries. What about the Rusalka, Baba Yaga, Vodyanoy, Alkonost, Koschei the Immortal, the Leshiy, Poludnitsa, Drekavak, and Chort? That might help to fill out that section!

Anyway, yes please! I’m in!

Got about half of those guys in their now... will look at adding more soon! :)

Just broke 300 pages!!! That's 2/3 through the book.

I've adjusted the chapters slightly as well, so now there is a new chapter for "Spirits of the Sea" which will have a section of Ghost Ships. This also allows for Chapter 13 (appropriately) to now be the addendum on Superstitions. :) Although... at the rate we're going, we might not need to add any extra pages from that book.

Now that you’ve got a few weeks under your belt with this project, do you have a better understanding of the cost? I’m maneuvering some things so I don’t miss this, but I wanna make sure I don’t maneuver too many or not enough$$…..

I don't see an interest list in post #1. At around the $250 (ish) range, I'd definitely be in. Is this going to be available to order through your site?
