The Rescuer--Luke's saber from Mandolorian Show off

I have definitely grown in appreciation of all the variants of Luke's green lightsaber. As a kid the first movie I remember seeing in the theater was the original release of ROTJ. I was four at the time and remember it like it was yesterday and I was in awe the first time that green blade was ignited. Then when we got the VHS I remember noticing the V2 and that it was different and then later learning of the V3, etc. This another great variant to add to the collection. Steller work Starkiller and Halliwax!

Ordered. I absolutely love the stunt saber for some reason and I think that's how I'll display it mainly. It's a nice contrast to the ROTJ Hero KR x OR that I have.

Hello everyone,

Since the end of season two of Mandalorian, I've been working on a replica of the saber prop that Luke uses to save the day for Mando and Grogu. If you've followed the development of this thread Spoiler prop from Mando series finale. Do not read until you've seen it!
you've seen some of the research that's gone into nailing the details of this particular version. Now, after quite some time, I feel confident in showing off the fruits of this project with a new hilt I'm calling The Rescuer.

The saber is machined from 6061 Aluminum and features two distinct grenade/emitter assemblies so match the hero and stunt versions of the prop. It is hollow on the inside to take electronics (I plan at some point to do a neopixel setup in mine like the original stunt had) and the emitter will hole a 1" recessed LED blade (where the tube slides over the neopixel connector in the emitter). I've assembled one for myself, painting the brass and bronze colors, installing the delrin black box, the green and red triangles, and adding the tri-ring belt hook. I thought some of you might be interested in seeing what I came up with.

Tomorrow, at 6pm, these will go up for sale on my website atstarsend.com. I'd love to hear what you think and to field any questions in this thread.

Are you using the same paint here as for the RotJ hero? Can’t wait to get started on mine!

Just got mine...This hilt is awesome!!! Both versions are great. Can't get over how accurate this looks...especially the box, neck, cubes and emitter. The stunt is a beautiful beast and i mean that in the most complimentary way. I'm very happy with this and can't wait to give it the screen accurate look. The paint used on the neck in these pictures, to my eye's, looks Yuma accurate. I'm gonna play around with some colors myself but am looking forward to Halliwax' video. Great Great Job!!!

Gonna spark this thing up tonight or tomorrow. My family and I are busy this week cooking enough Turkey to feed 125 people. So I really am crunched this week for free time

Was hoping to wire it Sunday but 19.5 hours of printing to get it right chewed up some wiring time lol

Up til 1am last night, all that practicing paid off. These are the best solder joints I’ve ever done in my life

Good job Halliwax...atleast you are trying, i absolutely suck at electronics. I don't know if it's my cheap soldering iron or me but i can never find the right temp to do it clean. I seem to tin everything properly but when i actually try to make connection it all goes south. lol. Looking forward to seeing it all finished. You should add a Gobble font on that thing after all the Turkey you'll be cooking.

I could never get it right until I invested in all the right tools, solder, wire and flux. Set me back a LOT of money…

There is a true art to this, I’ve been lucky enough to be trained by some of the best FXers in the community.

They weren’t lying either.. bought and did exactly what they have said and suggested and now it’s coming out exactly like they said

I keep my station at 600f

Thank you for the advice, i really appreciate it. Way back in my early 20s i was trained to sell Insurance. My trainer told me that the hardest part of each day was having the fortitude to open your car door and come out of it...lol. Electronics has always bewildered me a bit. I guess it's time i commit to doing it and "open the car door" .

Open that door baby!

I really appreciate all the fine work you folks do on these replicas. I built literally hundreds of plastic models growing up, but now that I'm older my hands aren't steady enough for the really fine-detail work. Keep going all!

I have to apologize for how late i am to this. Everything is filmed and Im about 80% done with editing. goal is to have this video up saturday morning as long as I get the time to finish the editing this week. My real job is a living hell right now..
but playing around in the shed forgets how crappy the real world can be some times. super shout out to Anakin Starkiller for doing this run, I have been wicked excited for this, check it out!
