T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

I still find it weird that there is so little info and reference on the RBS-80 rifle. Every other gun in T1 and T2 is well documented, and even fabricated weapons like the T2 endo rifle and the Aliens weapons are well documented. Heck, even the twist bombs Reese use against the Hunter Killer is well referenced and documented.

Why is the RBS-80 so shrouded in mystery or secrecy?
Maybe it was something that they built last minute and never bothered to document:unsure:

Found something fun from the movie when checking screen used rifles. The bottom barrel section on the shooting rifles were not level with the bottom edge, but were raised. All the endos shooting in that scene had the weird rifles - maybe the same full scale endo shot several times and comped together.

The skull stumping endo has the bottom barrel sitting level with the rest, so it may be a firing rifle issue to have it the weird way.

So far have found 4 versions with the movie style Calico insert look, where the top Calico detail has been sanded away, so doing all those. Skull stumper rifle is gonna be the hardest to do.

Hi there :) I just went through all 112 pages of this post and just gonna throw stuff out there. I'm doing a major reworking of the Djon T-800 for the past couple years, (so inaccurate in many ways) and though using Jaz reference pic library and auction pictures, the same as you guys, I only have achieved about 90% of the level of accuracy and detail that you have done. You guys have the bar set very high lol. A week ago I thought i was finished with it overall.
However, after scouring the 112 pages, I only found 2 or 3 things I will change/modify/edit, so I did pretty darn good for myself :)
- For faces, such as making a 3D model of Arnie's head, I would look into the addon called FaceBuilder (mine was for Blender). It's expensive for continued use, but I had a 30 day trial version and created, what I feel, is the best Hellraiser Pinhead model out there (just the head). I can't say enough about using it to get a huge 'head' start with any realistic/accurate head project. You use multiple angle pictures and drag various points to match. Kinda reverse photogrammetry.
- Maybe someone can use this info... The shoulder motors (just the motors) I believe are mirrors of each other (except the shorter solenoid protrusion), however the end parts that attach to the huge discs (looks like it has a mini cooling fan in it), those pieces are identical, not mirrored. They use the same part on each side and rotated so that the 'cooling fan' lines up with the solenoid protrusion of the motor. I always see models with the motors mirrored as a whole, and always thought it was correct, and it's not.
My T-800 is a little blend of T1 and T2... as you know the differences are minor, but I'm making it with my favorite parts rather one version or the other.
I like the Djon skull, but it looks like it's not the 'modified' T2 skull. If someone could direct me to the most accurate T2 skull model I'd appreciate it. I am sure it won't be one of the free STLs.
Great work you guys! I wish my modeling was good enough to make mine as accurate as yours, but some of those parts are beyond my skill to modify lol

I'm in the process of modifying his V2 model, I think the huge cavity under the skull bonnet and the overall design of the parts fitting together is far away from practical.
Picture for comparison. On the right is my reworked version. And I think I got what I wanted.

you can be proud of your work! I'm in the process of messing around with the model...honestly I think that the skynet model has to be scaled up by 10 to 11 %...the gearbox housing as it is (not the one that came with the model) will not fit into the temple, it's too big.

Looking for some thoughts/opinions on some details and if I will include them or not. I'm not adept at picking out the differences between T1 & T2 in many cases. What features would you include/exclude? I appreciate any feedback :)
A) Are the hoses to the motors 'common'? I've seen pics with and without... are they T1 or T2 specific? The pistons holding up the motors, I don't see them very often... T1 or T2? or personal preference?
B, C, D) Is adding smaller hoses a bit too much? I don't see those often at all, and know it might be personal preference.
E) I know Star Wars blaster builds people keep manufacturer markings for prop accuracy, would you do it for a Plasma Rifle prop for accuracy?
Thanks for any tips/opinions :)

A: those marked pistons aren't T1 or T2. Could be something later. The hoses is seen on T2 stuff. Haven't checked T1.

Definitely add those wires and connectors.

And yeah. Copy the text.
Here's some Calico M960 reference pics for the plasma rifle. Hope this helps others! There's writing on both sides (a couple are covered or partially covered). Have some fun with coming up with a custom serial number :D Thanks for the help TMG!

Looks like a quick and dirty attempt to smooth the letters on the left side, but that's hollywood... no one would see it anyway. Looks like only the writing ahead of the trigger is kept on both sides. I myself will probably do a serial number anyway as a personalization.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Haven't been feeling well.

After the fix on the foam skull, I wanted to see how it would fit inside the T1 bust I'm doing... and it fit pretty damn well. It changes the whole look of the visible skull sections. Will work with the foam skull from now on and will have to remedy some of the areas I sculpted on the bust before that no longer fits the skull... but that should be minor stuff. Hopes to get back to sculpting more on the bust soon.

Difference between LFS skull and fixed Foam Skull.
