Star Wars back stories between '77 and '80. What do you remember?

I still have all those and the ones that followed each movie, they folded out to reveal various shots from the movies all have residue from Blue tack and Sticky tape.
I've posted this before but here are two of the Posters on my old bedroom wall with all those vacuum form masks too..

I loved the first Stormtrooper one which has a poster on board the Deathstar but from memory the image might have been flipped.
That could be a bad memory though.. It's been a while since I looked at it.
I remember you posting this, great great photo

I know I read Splinter of the Mind's Eye as a child but really can't remember much about it. Just started listening to the audiobook linked earlier in this thread, and wow... they really leaned into the whole Luke / Leia romance thing. Knowing what we know now it's quite uncomfortable.

Same..
I'm on a break in Malta and that Audio book has been awesome to revisit on our downtime.

Does anyone remember the rumor of the 12 episodes of the Book of the Whills?

How about The Adventures of Luke Starkiller?

What about the mention in the Traveller RPG about the Vader duel?

Yep, Lucas threw out various numbers of episodes back in the day.

But he mostly brought up post-ROTJ episodes when he was talking about future business plans. I don't think he ever worked on them in the creative sense.

Kurtz has even gone on record saying that there was a plan after rotj. And that the dagobah scene “no there is another”

That line was intended for if Luke failed, they still had his fully trained twin sister hidden in the unknown regions

Kurtz also mentioned that during ESB. They talked about the 3rd film with Luke setting off into the sun set, going to go look for her.

I've read Kurtz's comments about the different direction of ROTJ before Lucas cut ties with him. But that stuff was mainly about ROTJ itself. I don't recall a big post-ROTJ plan. Just "Luke leaves to find his sister," which isn't very much to hang another trilogy on.

I too got the impression that it was the plan for what would have been Episode 6 and the episodes after it.
... But that plan was scrapped, and replaced with just one final movie.
