Recently reached out to see if I could get this channel to review one of my blasters. He mostly reviews metal high end props so I was a little nervous with how my FDM blaster would be received. Very happily and pleasantly surprised to hear his thoughts..

What a great review John. Well deserved brother.
I coulda sworn I saw this yesterday, but regardless, yes, well deserved, John.

Those relays look great! You’ve really got the rounded case down..

My thoughts - there are similar ex MOD relays on eBay that might give some good reference to the type of casing we’re looking at. Also if you happen to find a matching socket that can give you better idea of pin placement? That would most likely also be surplus or NOS… I’ve yet to actually find a socket or relay with this plug and it’s so frustrating!

Thanks thd9791. The pin placement is obviously subjective but it looks to be something similar? Honestly though some of these words u used I don’t follow? MOD.. surplus or NOS. I’m simply looking at the prop itself so forgive me but when it comes to the technical names I’m lost here.

This looks amazing. Are these available for purchase anywhere?
Thank you. I’m still actually working out the kinks with the design itself. I was recently and kindly provided with some specific details with regards to measurements so I’ll be able to improve this one and bring it even more inline to the actual film prop hopefully. Once I do, I’ll make them available through my Etsy (like my blasters) shop if interested.

im sorry, sometimes I forget about the outside world when I get knee-deep in searching for parts.

They filmed a lot of this stuff in england (or that side of the world) right, so a lot of the scrap or components were available over there. These type of aircraft parts are - a lot of times - found under Royal Air Force surplus parts today. Some are marked Ministry of Defense or Ex-MOD or New Old Stock, NOS, and then the type of airplane. Sometimes even just old military parts are marked this way since they were produced for some military purpose.

These white or entirely cased relays show up a LOT in these searches, specifically Magnetic Relays... and some of them have yellowed over time or are coated in something extra

Thanks man clarifying! This one looks really good imho. Wrong color obviously but I like the layout of the components up top..

Was asked to rework one of my stands to house the Rubies (at least I believe it to be that) Leia Defender blaster from ANH. The replica is really nice. First time I’ve seen one in person..View attachment 1873348
You do good work, my friend! Thank you, again! I think, finally, my work here is done.
I believe it's a Rubies, even though at the time of purchasing (LONG time ago), I thought it was (going to be) a 3D printed file. I was a newbie!
