Limited Run SIGN UP CLOSED. PRODUCTION BEGINNING! Dewy and Anakin Starkiller's Obi-wan Episode 1 saber sign up!

Unfortunately I don’t have the right lens for my camera to match the perspective of this image, but it’s pretty close:

Along the lines of what Foe Hammer said, the bevel along the top, I think appearing more pronounced because of how much the knurling seems to cut into it. On the original, the knurling doesn't seem to have gone as deep into the upper bevel as on the replica. But that may be trying to split hairs looking for a difference. It's a great replica though if the tiniest of details are the only way to tell them apart.

Amazing again!
honestly, from a machinist perspective, yes, the color is slightly different (and who knows which one is more accurate!), but shape wise, they are the same! I mean, if you take a bunch of vintage buttons, they will all have a slightly different bevel, a slightly different position of the knurling, the tolerance for those parts will be about half the size of the actual bevel, it's so small that it will never really be the same!
even so, I'm sure that if you even turned around this vintage button a bit, the bevel size would change to slightly bigger as the part is not always perfectly aligned in the holder when machined, especially if done in several steps.

in short, you guys really nailed it and I couldn't be happier :)
it's actually really impressive that they managed to get such a clean a result in the knurling with a pushing tool such as this, definitely solid machines and a good quality knurling tool!

The profile has been nailed:

And the knurling rollers are perfect:

I think the only item to begin to nitpick with these is that some of the knurling may be set higher which depends entirely piece to piece and the way that the knurling tools work.

That (by geometry of the diamond placement) will affect the amount of chamfer showing but it’s entirely relative to the sample.

I think it’s great. And the red anodize will age and gain depth of character over time.

My thoughts exactly. When I noticed the slight color difference my first thought was we're comparing a brand new item to one that is 25+ years old. There is naturally going to be some difference.

So well done, can not wait to send the funds to AS!

My guess is replica on the left, only based on the wear on the threads of the one on the right.

I should have read down more...I was wrong

Hi guys,

All the sabers have arrived and they look great. There's just one small problem. The shop countersunk the hole in the fender washer and chamfered the threaded rod. Which is inaccurate to the original prop. So they are right now, hurriedly remaking those two parts and will send them to me ASAP. Once the replacement parts are in, I'll ask for payments and begin shipping everything out. So, sorry about the delay. But it will be worth it!

It should, and will, look like the emitter on the left. We just need to get the replacement parts.
