Show your custom Lightsabers!

Man, you could prop a turd on that stand in the photo box and it'd look awesome!

Not to say that custom isn't cool, because it is!

Just sayin'. That photo box setup is really something!

Really? Can't say t-u-r-d? What about doodie? Okay, cool.

So while I'm waiting for funds for my speaker, Nano Biscotte sound card and LED to complete my internal chassis, I've been stripping the guts from a Sekor Mamiya flash. Turns out, the threads on the top and the bottom are the same as a D-cell Maglite tail cap. And since the Custom Saber Shop has pommel adapters for D-cell Maglites, this handle might be the one to test that chassis when it's done.

Sadly, the Sekor is only a two cell, so it's a pretty small hilt. Too big for a Yoda sized Saber, too small for a standard sized hilt, but for a Shoto Saber, I think it could work. Once I throw a 24" blade on it, I think I might have something.

The chassis I'm building will eventually go into my Wishlist Saber built from components at TCCS, but I was thinking about getting a Pico Crumble for a second Saber... So methinks the Sekor will get fitted with the Crumble and my dream Saber will get the Biscotte.

And once my wife figures out how much all this costs, I'll get the doghouse.

Another custom with a Canon X model base-

Those canons are sexy. I gotta get my hands on one. The three I've built from flash tubes are two heilands and one Sekor. Pretty plain and boring compared to a Canon or a Graflex.

Yeah Canon X are great for lightsabers although i want to get my hands on another DeMorney Budd but apparently they are far harder to come by than I thought.

Nothing close to the artistry displayed by these artisans, but here is my MHS concoction:

It's 95% complete, the only thing left is I picked up some Fender amp 'jewels' that look like they'd make great button/greeble additions to the emitter. If I get my blade built properly, I could have separate lighting effects under these than the main blade (neopixels and Proffieboard all the way. )

It features a hand-cut graflex-style shroud over emitter 22, short choke, leftover clamp from a Korbanth, v2 style repro circuit board, grenade section and TMP Obi-style pommel. Inside is the aforementioned Proffieboard, neopixel connectors from TCSS and a Saberforge chassis (fits perfect in the grenade.)

I've got a couple in red, amber and clear. Just need to get the emitter on the drill press to get the holes drilled out and tapped so I can swap in some colours and see how it looks.

That's a nice look hilt.

This is what I have gotten for the 2 cell Sekor. A bit of sanding down to the brass for the Electrum plated look. It has a thread hole in the side, haven't measured the thread pitch but it is smaller than 1/4-20, which looks like it might fit a glass eye from a Graflex.

I have a wishlist of about $70 for parts from TCCS, and that before a blade or electronics. This is an expensive hobby.

Very nice. Do I see parts from an old Lightech Industries saber on that hilt?

Here's my little stockpile I've get from the local swap meet over the last six months or so. Model Y is underway, little bolsey will probably be a yoda-esque hilt, and the Ciro is the new score from this weekend. Excited to finally use some vintage parts!

You hit that nail right on the head!!! My friend, Mike, that I mentioned is the guy that owned Lightech Industries. He still has several misc. parts and we're in the process of seeing what we can make out of them. Glad you like it. --Ed

You lucky stiff. I wanted a Lightech back in the day so badly, but had discovered them literally a week after I ordered a Parks Fury so the money just wasn't there. Please tell Mike that his product is still missed and remembered fondly.

It was a fun project. We got to use some leftover Saber parts Mike had left over from his LIGHTECH SABERS days.
He said to say "HI" to everyone and was impressed to hear he was remembered. --Ed
