Looks great! I'm intrigued on this technique you used...Hi guys,
Not really a RPF big poster just more of a lurker. Wanted to share my BEP K jacket I’ve been working on.
Wanted to create that sheen and also make the coat practical to wear so a fabric friendly product was a must!
I stumbled upon Odicoat fabric gel, what and absolutely brilliant product and also gave the finish I was after. It give an oil cloth affect and also makes it 100% water proof.
Bit of technique is needed to apply for the right finish but man the results are great!

Too bad they don’t offer a navy option...I know the Rag & Bone Avery sweater has been ID'ed, but it now seems impossible to find! Perhaps they've all been snatched up by intrepid cosplayers. If anyone's looking for a reasonable facsimile, I just stumbled across this product:
Eastbank Crew
Just thought some folks might appreciate this alternative!
True! But given the strong (and varied) color-grading used throughout the movie, if someone was looking to do a budget version of the costume, I think that any dark sweater (black, charcoal, navy, pine) would look right to the average viewer, especially once you dirty it up a bit. I feel like anything that isn't 100% accurate can sometimes be controversial here at the RPF, but I personally put a lot of value on "close enough" budget builds.Too bad they don’t offer a navy option...
In that case, it fits the bill very well.. I feel like anything that isn't 100% accurate can sometimes be controversial here at the RPF, but I personally put a lot of value on "close enough" budget builds.
As you said its not the right color for the BR2049 Avery but I'm pretty sure its the exact color of the same Avery sweater Jamie Dornan wore in Fifty Shades Darker.I managed to snag an Avery sweater off eBay. Wanted to give a heads-up that the Large size fits like a Medium (it's possible the previous owner shrunk it in the wash). The one is got is not the right color, so I'm considering dying it. Anyone have experience with that?

i am also interested in your technique that you used, what exactly was your technique? and how much odigel did you use? the small 250ml format that they offer doesn't seem to be enough to cover the entire coat imo. The liquitex technique that was mentionned a while ago also intrigues me, does the liquitex coating still hold up after a year or so?Hi guys,
