So wait Jameel Ur , are you saying your waxed coat on the right
Is black cotton?

Either way that coat looks fantastic

Search 'Big Effects Props' + 'Etsy' on Google. 'Dystopian Cop' is the coat. Hopefully they'll get some updated and more professional-looking photos up soon... The new coat absolutely deserves it.
I haven't shipped to Big effect props store yet, but you can place your order with note new coated coat.
Or you can send message to zlrupo.

So there will be three options for the newly updated coat.

Our original gray/green fabric, blacked waxed twill, and waxed gray/green.

Neither of the "waxed" versions are a true wax coating. The twill is almost like it's infused with plastic (not in a bad way, I think it makes an excellent coat material). The gray/green waxed coat is more like a real wax. I'm not sure if it's real wax or not. The cloth is very stiff, and it tends to hold folds and creases strongly. I'll be doing some tests to see if it can be softened in any way.

I have one of the waxed g/g versions, and just need to find a model who fits it well to take the pics. Jameel will be sending me a black and original g/g version with all the updates very soon, and will take new, updated pictures with those as well.

If you don't mind sharing a 'trade secret', where do you get that laminated black twill? I haven't decided if I'm going to tackle this coat again or not but it looks very close to what I'm looking for for another project I'm planning in the more immediate future.

It's not a secret, but it's probably not very helpful. It's from a cloth market in Pakistan. Jameel might be able to tell you more but unless you live nearby it isn't likely to help.

I'm probably in the market for a new Big Effects coat in the near future, but I want to consider all of the angles before choosing a material!

Based on what you said about the stiffness of the waxed gray/green, it safe to assume that the laminated black twill is more screen-accurate in terms of how it drapes and flows when a person is actually wearing it? How comfortable are each of these fabrics?

For me, the one appealing thing of waxed fabric is that it can always be re-waxed if it starts to wear off. Whereas with a laminated fabric, we don't really have much real-world info about how long that finish will last, or what it'll look like after a few years of daily wear. So I guess I'm curious if you think the new waxed gray/green is re-waxable, or if it's just infused with a wax-like plastic?

Also curious about how (a) breathable, and (b) waterproof each of these new "waxy" fabrics are.

Maybe the laminated fabric will “break in” or “wear” in the most screen accurate fashion? Hopefully. It certainly looks good in the pics above and i swear it looks green in them too.

Hey all,
Both fabric are waterproof or shawer proof ( I think shower proof would be better word).
I have laminated cotton coat since 2017 when BR coat project going to start but after while we refused it and get new duck cloth, I haven't seen anything peeling off stain yet,

Waxed Greed/grey fabric also made somewhere in Karachi mills, it's kind of new article of fabric, waxed has penetrated in fabric proplerly so you can't apply any other wax on it.
However, we don't use it so far, just a made sample and Zlrupo testing I think.

Thank you for sharing these videos! I'm definitely interested, though I still think I'll wait until Zlurpo posts the updated product photos to see how it looks in "action". I'm very curious about the drape and flow of these two fabric options, given that one is stiffer than the other...

Thanks,
Jameel, real good work and well done. Not a fan personally of the shiny black version, but the other two look great. Your attention to detail and dedication to consider and implement all the feedback you have received here is truly commendable. I think either version really takes the second spot right now of all the coats out there currently. While your details, dimensions, drape, etc are all superior to Soul Revolver (out of the box), I still think the SR looks better, particularly after the modifications some of us have done. That's just my opinion but I acknowledge and respect your hard work. If I hadn't already purchased a WSL, I would purchase one of these just to support you. Now, as I've said before, and others have too, if you ever find the laminated cotton material that SR uses or something even better and more SA, I am all in. Either way, bravo and I hope people buy the coat and share some pics.
