Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Excited to hear about this. Definitely interested, mainly in either a Han or Luke Bespin flash hider/ bracket and any version of the M-19.

M19 scope and pistons update

Hi all, it's been awhile since I've been involved in a project. Like...12 years or so?

Anyway, I wanted to give you an update on my progress. I finished the molds last weekend and have done a test pour in wax. They came out very well...no mold seams to speak of, so very little cleanup will be necessary before taking them to the foundry. I'm very please about this.

Here are some pics of the test pours to give you an idea of what we'll end up with.

That looks fantastic, great detail. :)

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Looks pretty good to me :)

the cast metal scopes are one of the big reasons for me jumping on this run

got my Denix ordered ready & everything :lol

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Milestone reached:

I took 9 scopes and 25 pairs of pistons to the foundry today. They gave me an estimate of 2 weeks to complete. After that, I'll send some over to Boba Debt so he can size lenses and have his machinist work out the machining required.

Looking great.

I notice a few have what look to be air bubbles. If so, does that affect the final cast?

Re: DL-44 ESB Blaster Active Project

Any that appear to have air bubbles actually have a skin of wax over them, so the casting will not show them. The later pours have none at all.

This run will be much better than the first run we did 15 years ago.

Hmmm...maybe I should reconsider my decision and get one of the scopes as well ;)

GREAT NEWS, thanks for your efforts!

Think Jedi... Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.

I still have the prototype silicon pull from your Yoda head run all those years ago. It might actually get to make an appearance up in my son's room soon. Although, my daughter seems to like "Yodot" better.

I love seeing the progress made here.

LOL! I brought my own Silicone Yoda head out when my daughter was 3 and she about ***** her pants. He was a very effective enforcer for about 2 years. :)
