revision of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

PM'd you with some stuff
I know I've got the ufo, jungle cutter and indy on horse pics somewhere because I sent them to rorschach, but can't find them.
Maybe he can send it to you.

Wow thank you both so much for sharing your pictures and for such quick responses! I really appreciate it!

One other insert I’ve had a lot of trouble locating is the refrigerator advertisement (photo of original attached). Using reverse image search and searches for the brand and catchphrase I’ve found a few very similar ads, but none with the sort of “picture-in-picture” woman that the original distinctly has. It may be something where I just have to choose the best of alternatives but I figured I’d ask!

Wow, thank you so much! Incredible pictures and pages! The ufo picture I was talking about was actually this one, though I found it on Wikipedia! I’m excited to use the ones you have for a Roswell entry though! I am also very interested in the Nazca pages. I hadn’t actually realized the Nazca book pages featured in the movie until you shared them and I dug into it. I actually had the simpler color images found in the original lost journal in mind (attached). I’m curious if anyone has them as well, though there are some great similar ones of the hummingbird and condor on Wikipedia as well.

I've also been looking for this insert. I've found other period adverts for the same brand but none that are exactly the same.

For what its worth here are a few bits and pieces from the diary I'm putting together.
* A titanic first class ticket.
* Titanic first class menu (these were made on light cardboard with the logo in raised gold)
* A cleaned up cross drawing from the lost journal
* Venice map 1800
* 1913 picture of stonehenge

Fantastic job on your inserts! I've been planning to work on the Coronado analysis too. Have you got the other page of it cleaned up as well? I've been putting it off since I'm going to need to add the sketches under the FSB note card which will take a bit of guessing.
I've purchased one of the other Wizard refrigerator adverts since I figured it captures the same feel and appearance of the originally used one. I'd still love to find the original but since the actual fridge in KOTCS is a King Cool, so its anachronistic anyway, if it's the best I can do I'll be okay with a bit more artistic license. I will scan both sides and post it here when I get a chance. I suppose if anyone has found a good King Cool advert that could be used as well?

Another insert I have been searching for is the aerial reconnaissance photo from the YIJC series. I've only found it on Indy Magnoli's site (low-res screen grab from his site attached) and he notes that it's "a WWI photograph of enemy territory, copied directly from a prop used in the television series". I'd love to find it as I'm hoping to include as many of the original items seen in the films and shows as possible, but I've had no luck either here or at COW.

I've also been looking for this with no luck but I've found a few substitutions.
I've got a whole bunch of inserts now and am not 100% which ones I will use yet. They are a combination of ones I've made from things found on this site and COW and other places on the net or original vintage pieces I've found.

Here are a few bits and pieces to use.

* Here's an image of the Somme battlefield from the air and a map of the battle.
* A Versailles peace conference pass 1919 (I've cleaned it up so you can fill in Indy's name)
* End of WWI newspaper headline
* Cleaned up end of WWI from LDIJ
* Genuine end of WWI document for comparison
* 1922 period colour photo of the set of Foolish Wives. They re-created Monte Carlo in full size. Cost a fortune and stunned everyone who saw it.
* Young Indiana and his family & Miss Seymour while on tour.
* Indy with Short Round
* Nazi castle last crusade
* Elsa last crusade
* Cleaned up version of Indy on a horse
* 1935 Temple of the forbidden eye large sized map
* 1995 original map prop for Forbidden eye

I haven't managed to clean up the back of the cross image sketch by Indy. My Photoshop skills don't extend to doing that yet.
If you want to buy old postcards, bank notes or other European paper documents to include I do reccomend this site as it can be a real goldmine for reasonably priced items to add to your diary.

if you are after a high quality copy of the 1916 Irish easter rising poster you can get one here.

Other links here

and a photo of the real Princess Sophie of Hohenberg whom Indy romanced in Austria. Her father was Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination sparked off WWI.

and another source of WWI air photos of battles.

and also here

These are great inserts! I had been planning to cleaning up several from the Lost Journal but you've already done such a fantastic job! I particularly liked your aerial recon substitution, Versailles peace conference pass (what a great idea! definitely including that) and the princess sophie photo since it seems like he would certainly keep a photo of her.
Whenever I get to the back of the cross analysis I'll post that. I've been using a tablet and adobe fresco to match the pen style of a given drawing, then carefully reproducing what I imagine for the missing section. Photoshop has a "context fill" option that also helps before I launch in with the tablet stuff. Here's an example of where I did it for the Sankara stones analysis.

I wonder will your journal contain the dial of destiny story and of corese the old Indy Bookends as well as an extra. As if Indy was still writing it in his 90s. Also if you need any help on old Indy’s entries I have a crap load of yijc screenplays that I've collected over the past few years.
I am definitely going to create entries for Dial of Destiny (so amped for it!). It's a main reason that I'm going to correct all the FSB cards to KGB, since I like that they add context and help the journal read like a book, but I want it to be in his hands for Dial. I had not planned on including the old Indy from YIJC, for a few reasons. The first being that I only own the DVDs which don't include the bookends, so while I've read about them, I've never seen them. The second is that, while it may be debatable for some of the younger entries, I view it as an adventure journal, so any entry should relate to an adventure! I imagine that in his retirement Indy would be more likely to read through his journal than add new entries about more mundane days. All that being said, having never seen the bookends I'm very curious, how you would incorporate them?

Okay, after lots of testing around I got this for the CCCP seal to be used on the soviet documents, based on this one. There's a lot to still be adjusted I think. I think the center emblem should be simpler so it comes across clearer for the simplified version on the inserted cards. I also think I did a mediocre job at the stamp effect but it's my first time trying that. However, does anyone know soviet material better? From what I found when I looked at old KGB documents they tended to just use USSR seals on them, rather than a KGB specific one, hence this choice. If a different kind of stamp would be more accurate I'd rather use that.
