Red Dead Redemption 2 - Arthur's Journal

Hey TuckerMan!
Yep, all textures were stretched for me also. I usually figured out the correct transformations with the help of a round graphic, etc. And then applied the same transformation to other textures.

Edit: sorry for the extremely late reply. I had some busy months.

Red Dead is a awesome franchise and you did it a complete justice! look forwards to seeing the inserts.

Ehyder20 thank you :)

Long time since I posted here, really sorry. I am very busy these days. But I found some time to set up all cigarette cards. I created printable PDF files with front and back sides and also images you can just take and edit yourself if you would like to.

They are added in the drive under ".../ArthurMorganJournal/cigaretteCards/"

I have the feeling I created them a bit too small if you print them out to DinA 4. I did some test prints, and they seemed to be a bit smaller than how it looks in the game holding one in the hand. But not by much. So maybe you want to blow them up just a bit.

Would love to see the results if someone prints them out!

Cheers!

More amazing been waiting for this before I committed. I'll be sure to post my results. Thanks again.

Beautiful work! I noticed you mentioned that in the game files you found shop catalogs. I was wondering if you remember where you found those.

Thank you very much :)

The catalog should be in here, at least the inside of the pages:

"...\ROCKSTAR\RDR2\Red Dead Redemption 2\textures_0.rpf\textures\item_textures.rpf\"

I never found a good resolution of the outside, sadly.
You will have to do the layout yourself, since the articles are separate textures. It is not per page. (Probably because in the game the catalog updates, depending on your progress in the story)

Hope that helps.

Good lord that's one hell of an undertaking!
Amazing amazing work. Absolutely beautiful

I'm waiting to miss playing the game enough to do my 3rd playthrough and go for the platinum trophy on PS5
(Translates to: Still building myself up to feel capable of it - collecting those bird feathers again? - the small animal pelt lists?)

Hello everyone :)
I was a silent reader for quite a long time on here and finally wanted to do a replica on my own. I gathered, that one of the starting projects a lot of people do is the grail diary and since I recently bought a printer, I thought about doing that myself.
But it so happened, that at that same time I played through Red Dead Redemption 2 and really enjoyed, that Arthur keeps updating his journal along the way. So I decided to make a replica of that instead.
What intrigued me about that game is, that although it is digital and fictional, the journal and a lot of the paper props in the game could be "translated" to the real world quite easily.
I started with taking screenshots and trying to retouch them in photoshop, but soon realized that there are modding tools that make it possible to data mine the source textures.
After doing that it was quite straight forward. Having the source textures also made it easier to layout the pages a bit better than it happens in the game. There are a lot of empty or almost empty pages in there.
If anyone is interested in it, I can make the PDF file I created available here, although I worry a bit about the copyright of the texture files.

This is absolutely one of the coolest things I've seen. Red Dead 2 is one of my all time favorite games. I just sent you a request to to google drive. I would love to make this over the summer. Amazing work!

Amazing!
I've sent you a request to access the PDF. I'm especially interested in the cigarette cards. I don't know why, but I have a thing for trading cards these days, and I loved collecting those in the game.
I have a download of all the Cigarette Card images, would it be best if I uploaded them to a google drive to share them with you. Its been a project I've been wanting to do as well, just haven't had the time.

I've been absent from the RPF for a couple of years due to unstable employment and the knowledge of my own limitations (such as my inability to prevent myself from buying replicas). I come back to this! This is a beautifully-done reproduction! I have requested access to your files!

Is it possible to grab a copy of the files? Just happen to be in the midst of replay and would love to replicate my game journal. Thanks!
