Thanks everyone :D

Now I just need to concentrate on the texture and tha back of the head and then it'll finally be done n dusted once n forall :love And then we'll get to see how this thing looks with a lick of paint on it.

Cyb.

Can we see how it looks with a lick of silicone on it first? :)

Looks fantastic. Great work.

Beautiful work. You have an amazing talent, Cyb.

I am also impressed by the grace and self-confidence with which you receive constructive criticism and apply it to make your work even better.

Best Yoda sculpt I've ever seen. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

WHHHHOOOOOOHHHOOOOOO ...... Fantastic work Cyberman - :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I've hadda bit of fun modifying the position of the eyes and one of the ears to change Yodas character to the sinister expression we all know n love "You will be...you will be"

Cyb.

I'm really making big strides now towards completion of the project and now I'm satisfied with the way the eyes look and the nose... Everything else will fall into place. Texturing has to look like Freeborns own work, not my own interpretation but the master himself. I want to look at it and think "This could be an original prop."

Cyb.

Phil,
Looking great.
Just a question though, is the mouth supposed to be off kilter like that?

Looks pretty good, though I agree, there's still something a bit of about the mouth. Imho, it extends too long out to the ledt and is too pointy instead of soft and rounded. Hope that makes sense.

I know the angle is slightly off compared to your picture, but hopefully it's still possible to make out what I mean.

Looks mighty good. :thumbsup

This is awesome work indeed. It's tough sometimes to accept constructive criticism but in the end you will have one of the best ... if not THE best yoda out there :)

I will be watching your progress with great interest ;)
Color me interested..

Opinions are noted and will be addressed... It is worth pointing out, though, that i can not match every single angle perfectly and this will never be the case as the expressions are different from one picture to the next... Frank Oz only needs to move his fingers a couple of millimeters to cause me all sorts of stresses LOL

Cyb.

Should the mouth be longer on one side of the face than the other?
I realize that the puppeteer's hand is what causes specific expressions but I didn't think that it the mouth opening was supposed to be so off center.

I've changed the mouth a bit but I don't want to over do it and make it to cemetrical as this is an organic subject not a machined object.

Cyb :)

I agree that it is not symmetrical, but I think the mouth does look centered under the nose on the original.
I also agree with NoHumorMan that the mouth crease extends too far out on the left side and not far enough on the right.

Boy, Cyb - you know how fantastic I find that new Yoda sculpt, but since your're asking
for "input" and I'm not that good with words (English not ma muthas tongue :lol ) I did
a little Photoshopping to your latest pic ... hope it can be helpful :) - GREAT WORK ....

Hi Guys,

Well i've already addressed the mouth problem and I hope to post pics on the weekend. Please remember though... This is a Yoda sculpt with its mouth slightly open not clamped shut like the reference picture being refered to. I want to be able to see just inside the mouth.

As far as the changes being made to the mouth... we see below a illustration of how wide the mouth actually is using purple and blue spots.

Cyb.

Hey Cyb,

I think that all you need to do is widen the mouth on the right hand side (Yoda's left).
I just did a simple "guidelines" comparison where I drew some lines across the photos to get an idea of how symmetrical it is (or isn't). If you look at the position of everything relative to the black guidelines, you can see that the corners of the mouth seem to extend equally on both sides (when compared to the position of the nose).

Hope that made sense. GREAT work on this sculpt.

Chris

Yes Yes. To cking you listen. ;)

Great work buddy, a little tweaking with the mouth and I think you are set to have the definitive Yoda sculpt here.

Can't wait to get to work on a cast of this. :D

Best,

Al
