re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I am John, from Northern Ireland, great site, I am quite shocked to find out there are so many people out there making great things . I hope to merge my passion for all things Star Wars with my love of art . I have a few projects I plan on completing before I am too old, I will thank you now for any help I will certainly need in the near future:confused

Hi all,

My real name is John and I am a large fan of Superman, Special effects, and movie props in general. I am also into computers and am running my own server these days. I ran into this site while researching information for a George Reeves Superman Suit. It’s good to find a group of like minded folks and I hope to both learn and be of help when I can. I run several web sites from my server and will publish the links when I’m done updating them and I figure out where such things go on this board.

Hi there,

I'm Rich, from Swansea, UK. Pretty new to this costuming/prop building lark, but I'm keen to get started on a sizeable Doctor Who collection!

I write fanfiction, draw and compose (poorly) and of course, fiddle about alot with bits and bobs to try and make wacky custom props for my hypothetical 12th incarnation of the Doctor!!

Hey all!

I figured I should go ahead and finally introduce myself. My name is Ian and I hail from the Pacific Northwest where I work as a production assistant at a publishing house. I've lurked here for years, but only started contributing recently when I began work on my M41-A pulse rifle. I typically only get the chance to suit up in costume during Halloween, but i've assembled a few modest pieces over the last few years:

Han Solo, 2007:

Logan, 2008:

The Man with No Name (loose interpretation), 2009:

Props and costumes are a lifelong obsession of mine, and it's a real treat to be sharing ideas here with such talented folks. My current project is a vault dweller from the Fallout video game series, but I also have ambitions toward a set of USCM armor to complement my pulse rifle. I look forward to sharing all of these projects as they continue to progress!

Heya, new guy here. I recently went through some rough medical stuff and I'm changing hobbies. I was racing RC cars but am now switching over to building some replica props and original pieces.

Hopefully we'll be able to help each other out. You guys know fabrication, I know a bit about electronics and remote control.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all! I've done a small bit of costuming, but have exactly zero experience with prop building. I'm looking to putter around and see what I can learn and, hopefully, one day contribute something back. I've popped onto the site from time to time and I'm glad to be able to join the community at last.

Hello there. Just a university student struggling to balance a hobby with the bills. I have very little experience but am working toward several goal costumes I have. I am essentially limited to simple sewing projects.
I am not so much interested in movie replicas as I am video game costumes.
Hope I can learn from you guys.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone,

I got interested in movie prop replicas a few years ago. I am especially into weapon replicas. I found this forum while searching for information about "The Mummy" replicas. I look forward to reading through all of the great information and adding to my collection.

Thanks

Hello there,

I'm a 20 year old university student with a huge passion for all things entertainment. I watch heaps of movies and there's always things in movies that make you go "oh wow I want one of those".

So I came here hoping I could own a piece of movie history :D

Cheers

Hi yall,
My name is Jay and I'm a huge Predator fan. I love everything Stan Winston, but am especially big into the Alien, Predator, and Jurassic Park franchises. I have a full body Predator costume that I just posted in the costume thread under Big Blue. Thanks and look forward to prowling around in here.

hi! I'm john from Oregon...Twice now I have had odd searches end in these forums.

First for wanting to remake the temet nosce sign from the matrix...

and now again for wanting to make a zorkmid from my favorite game ever...
http://www.therpf.com/f9/best-way-replicate-coin-zork-related-80645/index2.html

I think I need to be a part of any forum community that would have such randomness and awesomeness in one place.

One other thing, I also have my own site / forums over at Sprite Stitch, maybe some of you have heard of it.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,

while this is not my first post, I now have the time to sit down and write a few things about myself. I am interested in modelling, scale models and movie props, and so I came across this forum and read with great interest. I have not finished many projects before (exept for a lightsaber hilt from a vacuum cleaner tube and the accompanying Jedi costume from old bedsheets), but when I read about the dollar store Iron Man arc reactor contest, I could not resist, started building my reactor and joined the forum.

I will most likely not post very much, because, as I said, I do not have very much to post about, and also, I am studying (socioliogy) and am right before my final thesis - for about a year now, which is why I finally want to get started. That will not leave much free time for big projects. Well, or maybe these will be the only thing I will be doing besides eating, sleeping and reading - I will see.

Hello everyone! I'm Wally Contreras, 501st and R2 Builder. I'm White Armors partner on the Cad Bane project, which per Dave Filoni we nailed it (or at least that's what I heard:)) I thought I join the RPF as we embark on Season 3 of Cad Bane. Plus I can help others by sharing lessons learned on building Cad Bane. I will say up front wearing this costume is not for the faint of heart...full latex over face in FL humidity was a challenge, but the pay off was incredible. As my good friend Vince said, "The joy is in the building, the pay off is in sharing it with others" Glad to be here look forward to interacting and learning new techniques.

Hi all,
This is my first post... I'm new to therpf forums, but have been a huge prop fan for a while now. I especially love Harry Potter and LOTR, and once made my own Dobby costume for halloween! ^_^ I'm from the northeast US, and hope that I'll learn from all you veterans on this site! =)
