Hey guys,

I have loved this site for years and have a lot of mutual friends on here so I figured once registration was open I would join. There is quite a bit of talent on here and I'm glad to be a part of the RPF family.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, Can't recall if I introduced myself. I'm Robert and I am currently working on a few items/costumes. I created a full face appliance for Sin City's Marv. Helped the wife make an awesome Batgirl costume.

I have a full on Indy repro costume along with some real film costume pieces from other films. Currently working on the life size HIC, Wolverine claws and Hugh Jackman life size bust. Also have other life busts in different stages.

Looking into putting a Vader ANH costume together.

Hello World! I've been viewing these forums for a while now (some of you will know me from Statueforums and SideshowFreaks) but am now "official". I'm primarily a Alien/Term/Pred/LotR fan and while I havent "made" my own props yet, I'm huge into the "tweaking" of items, such as making parts actually move, light up, etc. You'll see plenty of my mods in the near future. Its great to be part of such a creative board!

Hi everyone,

My name is Richard, I'm 23 years old ATM.
I live in Holland where I'm a student of Archaeology, so needless to say I'm a big Indiana Jones fan. I've been a member of COW for 3 years now, but my introduction to this hobby came from Ghostbusters. I've always wanted a proton pack, so I started building one in 2003 and became a member of GBProps/GBFans. Through these sites I gravitated this way, but always missed the registration period. Finally made it here, though.
The only original studio stuff I have is a piece of a Spider-Man 2 suit and a production made cap from S.W.A.T.
For future projects, I'd like to do some superhero stuff. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man and maybe Iron Man. Anyway, it's great to finally be a member of the infamous RPF bunch!

Hey guys,

My name is Ryan and I'm totally new to this. I saw a TED talk with you mentioned and it sounded cool so I thought I'd come along, I'm 15 at the moment and therefore don't really know anything about any of this stuff, but I am intelligent and willing to learn so if any of you have any tips for me I would be very grateful. I also don't really have any of the materials or know-how to do any of this stuff :unsure

Hi everone

I live in So. Calif. I am retired now but I have worked as an archaeologist in the Near East for a few years, taught ancient Greek in a theological school and later started a coating company doing concrete floors.

I stumbled on this forum and have found it to be fascinating to read and I am amazed on how much effort is made producing the perfect model/prop. Yes, I am amazed.

Hi All,

Fantastic site. I started out making faux world war aircraft artifacts. Then saw ironman and said I've got to learn to sculpt. Now on a backlight movie poster frame. Need to learn sculpting to do the curved part in cold cast bronze.

Hello All!

I've been working on styling cars for a time now, and just some years ago I started modeling small stuff myself.

Now I have started to work with pepakura...(oh how I hate it and love it at the same time :p) for the fact of building bigger things.

I got directed here from a friend, and I gotta say that things that are created and shown on this forum is fantastic!

Hi all,

I've always had a great interest in prop making, having been the prop maker for a large amount of school and college productions over the years. Now looking to do some stuff for myself for once!

I especially love to weather items, having stumbled across a weird but great technique involving paper ash, rust prevention fluid, filler and paint!

I hope to post some threads very soon about my projects.

Hello there!

I've been coming here on and off for about a year now and noticed the registration was open. I've dabbled in making some saber hilts, modification of toy guns, and costuming. When I was a teenager I built sci-fi models religiously.

Hi everyone!

So I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I initally rather stumbled upon this site a few months ago, and since I have searched and read through many posts and forums and I am just amazed at the work and the collections that people have put together.

So just a little about me. I'm a graduating early senior from a university in South Eastern Pennsylvania, and I'm currently in the process of applying to Ph.D Programs in Industrial Organizational Psychology. I've actually been sewing and costume making for about 10 years now (almost half my life). Mosty dealing in reproduction costume (renaissance etc.). The past several years I have been making costumes for Cosplay (costumes from Japanese Anime/Video Games) for conventions.
Since discovering this forum I'm starting to transition to more armor/prop type pieces. I have been bitten by the Iron Man bug, and have started work on an Iron Man pep (yes another one) and am excited to start other projects as well.

Most of my collecting thus far has been in statues, figurines etc. not so much replica pieces, but this forum has inspired me and turned me on to this new area of collecting. Most of which so far has been in the realm of horror props, masks, weapons and the such. Still trying to figure out good ways to display stuff though.

I hope since starting this introduction I can begin contributing to this fantastic and inspirational forum and share my ideas and opinions with others and perhaps assist other people with their projects as well.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi All! Love the site but ticked off that i have to wait 45 days to post in the Junkyard! What's up with that? I'm just looking to upgrade my prop collection. I noticed some chatter about a Kelvin communicator...anyone actually build one? If so, please tell me where to view the pics. Thanks! Scott

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone.

Just a new guy who's a newbie in costume and prop making. For some time I've heard about this site and finally came on down and taken a look. It's a great pleasure to be part of this community and I'm glad to be here. My current project is ODST from Halo. I've got most of the pepakura work done and I hope to start to resin the pieces soon. Well that's my little introduction. Thanks everyone and take care.
