Look a little closer you will see you cannot sculpt over something and have the outcome equal or smaller in size, and i do believe thanks to TMI the photos showing Carls cannon tapers out on the cannon and mine tapers in......

You are so full of ****. You think because you added a different barrel and a few other things you can't hide what's underneath? The plasma generator endcaps are still the same. Next time, cover them over COMPLETELY with the bondo and we can avoid this ****. The reason yours tapers in more than mine is because of the added thickness of material you added on top of the rear cylinder. Of course it's going to taper in when you maintain the same bevel angle of the end caps. You must really think people are dumb in these parts. Go sell your story to the Air Force, no one else is buying it except Shadow who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

You say I'm taking credit for the Winston cannon and that his is a whole new one. First of all, when did I ever attempt to take credit for that thing? Do you even read posts on this board, or do you just drop in to stir things up? Secondly, you may want to up the prescription on your glasses. Once and for all, whether I or someone else makes something that is BASED on an existing film is immaterial----it is NOT the actual cannon from the actual mold. Just because it isn't, doesn't mean anyone can take the friggin' thing and bastardize it to make a fast buck. If that were true, then EVERY piece made by EVERY artist on this board is subject to having their stuff taken and altered like mine---for chrissakes! I don't want to get off topic here, but since I made it, I have artistic rights to it (not intellectual rights). What I ought to do is get a hold of one of Animitronic's pieces and alter it, post it up here and have my sycophants come out of the woodwork to back me up. Then we'll see how he likes it.

Just because you never bought one of my cannons directly from me doesn't mean you can't get a hold of one, again more ********. If you wanted to modify my cannon, all you had to do is ask me, and I would have said yes--We could have worked something out. You've got too much talent to be doing this, I'm really disappointed in you.

You know, I just love the "objectivity" of some of the people around here. How often do you see me make an accusation like this to a fellow artist? Pretty provocative move wouldn't you say? Progress pictures ---- even if they do show up, they'll be Photoshopped.

All I said was that if people make their own designs and modifications, they are bound to look somewhat like each other, which can cause it to look intimidating to you as a sculptor. I respect your work, as do I with others. I think this fellow shouldn't be burned down for posting a pic that resembles some parts of your version.

It'd be a different thing if you had a whole original design going on, like I did years ago for my personal design, but the P1 is just a pretty generic basis which has been done many times in many shapes. With every detail that it has, it will spawn many look alikes.

Your standpoint is that it's your cannon and due to that, all alterations and modifications should mention you.

HOWEVER
My standpoint is that it really doesn't matter all that much, since we're all building on our own, working for our personal greater cause: having kick-ass predator props.
It's like saying Steve can't take full credit for his Celtic, since he used a P1 as a basis...

Informative update for all y'all hunters on the lair......after multiple phone calls, research, & personal investigation I have found out that the cannon posted is a combination of multiple sculptors. I have a cannon that I sculpted for my personal collection that I am not willing to sell. I allowed a friend of mine to use the barrel and some of the trim pieces to sculpt one of his own (or so I thought) since I did not want to sell mine. I was unaware that this person was adding the barrel I sculpted to the back-side of Carlart's cannon. I have spoken with Carlart & discussed this issue in length & I apologize for any misconception or disagreements that have arised from this situation. I did not do any of my own research prior to posting the pics of the cannon because I did not anticipate any problems. Sorry for the confusion!!!

wait a minute...now you are saying that the pictures that YOU posted are of a friends canon? This doesnt make sense at all. In your first couple of postings in this thread you accepted praise for something that you passed off as YOUR canon. You are the one that posted the pictures. You are the one that knew if this canon was yours or your friends. I usually never post in what I deam as negative threads, but watching this one unfold over the past few days has been like watching a car wreck in slow motion. Dude that's Carls canon... just fully admit it instead of half-ass admitting it and be done with it. Im still totally confused by your explanation.

To me it looked like Carl's cannon got cut and stretched out like making a stretch limo and had a section added for length. Then a poor job of trying to undetail it to hide the obvious fact that the cannon is not an original design. More like kitbashing with another respected cannon. Looks like it got dipped in molten plastic, little detail.
