MR falcon paintjob comparisation

Hello all!
New member here.. This is an amazing site.. I will be here often!!..:cool

I thought I was the only one having problems with my MR Falcon paint job. I returned mine because I thought the airbrushing was way too Dark and non-blended. Now I come here and see some of you with the EXACT same problem, and now I feel vindicated.:cool

Here was my first.. I sent it back about 8 weeks ago and still have not recived a replcement. They have told me that they are waiting on more from the factory.. :confused

Disclaimer, I AM A PICKY MOFO.

#1 is with a flash. Notice even with the flash the airbrushing is DARK. Look at the blasmarks along the side.. They almost merge into one long blastmark. The rear area is VERY dark as well. And look next to the cockpit area, going along the seam of the cockpit "tunneL. Also, along the top of the cockpit tunnel is too dark. The area around the turret is too BLACK as well.

#2 Another one with flash. Compare this to other falcons. The blast marks are DARK.

Anopther with flash. you can clearly see how the blastmarks are VERY dark. Look at the escape hatch tunnel. It look like seperate splotches of darkness along the crevace.

This just does not look film accurate and does not match other MR falcons I have seen like Phillip's (from Rebelscum).

Airbrushing is supposed to be subtle, Not shove it in your face and say "painted on". I have seen other MR falcons done right in person. This IMO, was not a perfect one. But again, I am a picky MOFO.

Welcome to the board Boshek,

Mine was like your first one just a little less darker, but yes yours has way overdone airbrushing, I had returned mine for assembly issues and luckily I got a very nicely painted version, I hope you get a good one, how did you explain to MR and do you think they will know what's a good painjob?

Gfollano,
Thanks for the warm welcome. This site continues to blow me away!

When I recieved my Falcon, after thinking about it for about an hour, I knew I wasnt going to be happy with it, the more I looked at it. So I boxed it back up the night I recieved it, and called MR the next morning. I explained the paint job was unsatisfactory due to the overly dark airbrushing. They apoligized and gave me a return auth number within minutes. I sent it back the following day.(no cost to me) FedEx picked it up at my house, as there was no way that box was going to fit in my car! LOL

It was very difficult to do, as I was very excited to finnally have the prop of my dreams. And the detail on this model is nothing short of astonishing. I loved it! However, there was no doubt in my mind that the paint job was considerably "off" compared with the others I have seen, so back it went. Im supposed to get the new one over the next 2 weeks, so when I do, I will post new pics. Its been a long wait!

I spoke to AMY and they said they would specifically get me one with a lighter paintjob. I have to say that Amy makes a HUGE difference over at MR. She is always there to help and ALWAYS gets back to me. Thank goodness for her!:thumbsup

Amy certainly has been a breath of fresh air at MR. She is customer friendly to be sure. Glad it's gonna work out for ya.

Dave :)

I have a wacky request. If any of you guys that send you Falcons back just happen to wind up with a spare radar dish-could ya send me a hollar? I could sure use one!
