Re: 3 Ft Fiberglass Firefly

You know I was thinking this was going to be a cool project.

But due to the comments here, I'm out.

I don't care for the arrogance demonstrated.

There's some arrogant asses here allrighty. Got that right. :lol
They seem to filter in from fringe groups of losers who don't fit in normal society, like the banned members who formed "Ill-Lunacy forum". :confused
Those guys squabble among themselves like ill tempered children, and their venom is carried wherever they go.:thumbsdown
It dosen't bother me. But it is disruptive to project threads, who cares?:angel
I'm doing my own thing for the fun of it.

:lol

Re: 3 Ft Fiberglass Firefly

What project? I waded through 6, now 7 pages of a Firefly thread and have yet to see anything remotely close to a "project". Put up, or shut up.

I tried to post a message to the RPF Staff and received the following message;

The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
  1. RPF Staff has exceeded their stored personal messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space.
So I guess I'll ask it here.....

Hi:

What happened to the 3' Firefly model thread?

I would understand if it was moved to the Junkyard.

But I'm afraid that because I've seen the announcement in SerenityStuff about the official 18 inch model, the chance at an unofficial 3 footer is gone.

Could you please let me know why the thread was pulled? (i.e. for copyright or RPF conduct issues)

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I temporarily moved the thread off the board for further review.

Thanks,

Bryan

Mike, Bryan, I would have posted progress pix allready if the climate wasn't so cold. Some members have been downright rude to me, so I have shown some pix to trusted buddies, and I'll share pix with members here if they PM and ask.
Too bad I have to basicly get this ship done before showing it off so I'm not criticized for doing poor work.
I have all parts except the shuttles roughed out or somewhat finished at this time, so please be patient, I'm going as fast as I humanly can on this project.
Everyone can afford one too, it is a project for the fun of it, not profit, so I don't know why I have so many detractors, but they will see how nice this model looks soon.
If more moderation will keep this problem under control, this thread would certainly have some progress pix. As I said, I'll send pix to buddies who ask at this point..
A few bad guys ruin the fun for all of us, and of course I WANT to show you guys everything going on, I think you'll be very happy with what you see.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Ron

Ron, for every unwarranted jab someone sends your way, you bring on another with boasting and baiting. You're your own worst enemy.

Forget about your E, forget about other boards, forget about retaliatory baiting in other people's threads, and stick to talking about your current project in your own thread. If people are frustrated because you won't post progress pics, you only have yourself to blame. There isn't any point in a progress thread with no progress documented. At that point it's just a sales thread in the wrong forum.

I'm real close to showing this ship, and even a mockup of the completed model with reference to judge the size.
I like the size of it, it's just under 3 ft long and 22 inches wide.
So every conceivable lighting and detail can be added.
I'm doing the retracting landing gear in each kit, and the rotating core is a simple few parts.
Please, allow me the freedom to not be rushed, this is a complicated model, that is turning out super.
It will have some details ommitted so I can pull it from the mold, like the front scoops under the nose will be less deep, but every plate and louver is being put on the model.
My buddies told me to make an extra effort to smooth this mosel before i mold it, so little or no sanding is required, and I listen, I am making everything smooth and finished as possible.
Extra moderation might be helpful, but I hear you Jay, about getting frustrated.
You should know, that the small frustration I feel about the disruptive posts and rude comments dosn't effect my effort on this project or the quality of this model, infact I hope the end results will speak for themselves.
I'll have molds in about 4 to 6 weeks, and be pulling the first bunch of ships, so this is not a pipe dream, or wishfull thinking, the bulk of the design and part fabrication is completed, and even if I molded what I have now... we would have large accurately shaped ships. Lacking detail.
I'll post pix later this week like I promised.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Ron

Re: 3 Ft Fiberglass Firefly

I have moved this thread back to the modeling forum just for everyones reference, although as it has been pointed out very little, if any, beneficial information has been communicated in this thread.

Baiting, trolling are not acceptable behaviors on the board and are unproductive.

In the mean time, RShanko, until you have pictures, there really is no point in having this thread continue as it has become unproductive. When you are ready to show your efforts, please open a new thread, I see no point in just writing about your efforts at this time.
