Maze Runner Death Cure - WCKD uniform (help)

Hi! I’m 22 years old as of last November. Been monitoring this form on and off every year since it was created. I watched the death cure movie while I was still in high school obviously. And the predecesor movies before then as well. Please read all because I have a discovery for you all later. Mr Roach, I very much appreciate your dedication to this thread, as you have kept it alive for me! That alive being my dream to have a darn WCKD helmet that’s accurate enough, and has a mesh flush with the rest of the helmet for at the most 300-400 per helmet of just materials. Not a 3D printer included. Idc, I’ve got a full time job and make good money for all of it. So please keep us posted on the helmet and any other findings like maybe a slightly bigger LED for the vest, which is one of my favorite touches to the uniform and you finally found it close enough for us in 2024 lol. But I finally have about 1,500 to spend on just the uniform. NOTICE: I am a two way radio technician and have worked with Motorola before. The exact radio on the back of the wckd soldiers is a Motorola Radius Cp200 VHF. Not the newer cp200d but the original cp200. It has to be VHF to have the thicker exact same antenna. I know this cause I have worked extensively on these radios and can tell just by looking at the antenna matched with the knobs on top. Below will be a photo of the radio and getting a used cp200 on eBay will be between $60- $120. If you find one for more it is basically a scam. Because they are such popular radios for nerds and are older people charge more than that sometimes. If you have doubts please pause the movie at certain times. Especially when they are about to jump out the window and you will see with good enough eyes. Much love for everyone on this forum! Please respond back. Hope I did this right cause I just created my account lol

I know the radio is a minor detail, but I love the look of it and think having the correct antenna and dual knobs look with no screens or anything is important for true accuracy :). They are also very great nice commercial radios. They will last longer than that uniform. I’ve seen it lol

Welcome to the RPF YuhUltra, Thank you for the compliment, and your continued interest in the project.

The radio is a cool spot, Appreciate the contribution! I've just been using a cheapo Baofong as a stand in until i got around to identifying the screen used one. Piece by piece, its all coming together.

Interesting detail I had noticed about the radios in the film, they put the same little WCKD sticker they used on the knives on the radio to cover up the Motorola logo.

WCKD really loves branding stuff.

Yes! The branding literally everything is so funny to me but cool fs. I joined the discord. Thank you for responding! Glad I could contribute! The baofengs use the Motorola 2 pin connector. So any Motorola mic that is the Motorola style 2 pin will fit a baofeng, and the other way around. So for the peltor mics that they use with the ptt button turned into a yellow WCKD logo, will work on the screen used radio identified above. Just know, if it fits the baofeng it will fit the Motorola cp200 (screen used radio)

Notice that in the movie they don’t actually connect the mic to the radio. You would be able to tell because you would see the area on the radio to where it connects would have a bulge on the side. Instead they tuck it behind the radio vest mount as to cause less bulk and a cleaner look I’m assuming
