Really is the most simple and beautifully made kit I have ever seen. Some dull spots on the chrome finish on one but it will be cover up for the most part. I can’t recommend this kit enough. Applying the gold leaf is stupid simple. After that, just some glue and basic paint. I should be done with two next Friday. One will be a gift to my twin brother. Thank you for making this kit possible and so easy to finish.

Do not use the chrome pen that is recommended. It will ruin the chrome on the glaive. I tried to use it on the dull spots that peeled off and ruined the finish more.

Has anyone had any issues importing one of these kits into Australia?
Mine has been seized by customs as a prohibited weapon import. They’re stating it’s a “Star Knife/ninja star” which apparently Australia prohibits import of.
I’m going to try to explain it’s an “unsharpened, non-functional replica of a movie prop, for ornamentation and display only and cannot be thrown or used as a weapon” but given Australian Custom force can be a bit hard-headed I’m not sure I’d have much luck. Sigh.
If they do decide it’s an actual weapon, I apparently need a prohibited weapons permit and an import license, and it’s unclear if I able to obtain these after the prop has already arrived in Australia. Worst everything needs to be done within 30 days of the seizure notice and it’s taken a week for them to get the notice to me.
Appreciate any advice from anyone who’s been through something similar.
And just in case it’s not clear, this is in no way anyone’s fault but my own. I certainly don’t blame relicmaker. It’s my own fault I guess, for failing to even consider that a movie prop might be seized.

Try to provide movie screenshots and that it is only for display purposes and not an actual weapon, since the blades sit shallow in the body and are also very dull. It's mostly an ornate sculpture / movie prop replica, that resembles a weapon.

Woohoo!!
By some miracle, Australian Customs actually listened to reason and accepted my explanation and request to reassess the seizure of my Glaive replica kit. I filled out the forms and included an email explaining the nature of the kit as a collectable, that it was not a viable weapon and included a link to this thread. I'd pretty much written it off as lost at that point, but I received an email a week later saying they'd re-assessed and the package was being released.
I just collected it from the Post Office and opened it up. I think everything is there and it looks amazing!!

Just need to apply the white paint, then dig out the gold leaf and then assemble evrything.

Huge relief here, I was gutted thinking this amazing kid was going to be incinerated.
The whole experience definitely re-affirms my decision not to try and get in on the Blade-Runner blaster run. That would definitely cause problems.
