True. Almost too much considering that cap was from the thirteenth episode filmed. That looks an awful lot like the Finney phaser. Just sayin'.

I've spotted a few things that if you look closely at your Finey build should stand out clear as day to you....OOOOps! Look at the top of the P1 side rail just under the thumb wheel. There's an imperfection in the shell right at the rail that looks rather cleanly reproduced in this new one. Also the 'forehead' looked to be a few hairs thicker than it should be. I think I'm leaning towards stellar reproduction rather than real prop....
I was about to post the same observation; seems to me that the second fin down is, indeed, shorter![]()
1. The TMOST P1 (in the sceen used prop listing photo) is right up against the rear deck of the P2. In the Finney P2 screen grab closeup there is a large gap.
2. The leading edge of the rear fin clips are too close to the leading edge of the rear fin cut in the P2 body.
3. The Finney P2 screen grab closeup does not appear to have a P1 release pin with a concave depression in the end. Where as the listing photo does...
This one IS realI tried very hard to make a Cloud Minders (formerly Finney) phaser, so I'm well aware of the inconsistencies and imperfections that I did not include simply because I did not want to make myself crazy. But I can see where if someone was going to pay me even 10K for it, I would have. View attachment 1839361
I feel like it's possible that it's real. Just some little things don't seem right. But this could be camera angles, lighting or so on. We need some more (and higher definition) pictures of both.I don't know how many people were around when the Alpha comm was discovered but it was so ridiculed that both John Long and Greg Jein dropped out of the discussions; never to contribute again.
I will reach out to see if I can post some photos so that we can have a discussion based on more than one photo but keep an open mind!![]()
It’s possible that the lighting angle and the touch-up paint could distort the perceived length of the fins. Lighting can create shadows and highlights that might make the fins appear longer or shorter than they actually are. Also if the fins have been pushed back too far into the recess this could also affect their apparent length and position.
We should be seeing more photos as early as monday since that's when it goes on display at comic con.We need more photos, which will surely pop up once the items are listed on the auction site.
Yeah, but I also remember when the Nichelle Nichols midgrade's were first introduced... Everyone was jumping my case and told me to shut up after I pointed out things that were wrong.I don't know how many people were around when the Alpha comm was discovered but it was so ridiculed that both John Long and Greg Jein dropped out of the discussions; never to contribute again.
