JFcustom's FOAM files

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Has anyone ever put the fiberglass cloth and resin on the inside of it foam helmet. Would the resin melt the foam?

I've resined without the cloth. Foam was just fine.

Wow.....wish I knew about the tape idea earlier.... that is great. Guess I should rebuild everything now.

Tututu, you're far better if you learned playing banjo with boxing gloves ^^

Nothing to do with it but I can't remember who requested for this file, a while ago :

Yes, I also think it can only works better with some very sticky tape. But let's keep in mind we're not attaching foam panels together using tape here, we're only hiding a gap before painting. It's better if it's strong of course, but it does not claim to be bullet-proof.
Once cold, hot glue is quite rigid. The foam suit can bend everywhere but the seams are the most rigid areas. I think that's why there's almost no slack at the level of the tape. Anyway it can't move at all, trapped under a shell of rubber and paint... even on purpose you can't remove it. Well, yes, I'm sure you can, but I'm afraid you must ruin the suit first.
Anyway I'll post pics of a crash-test tape-trick here, it will become a bit more tangible.

Oooooh, gotta do the Laputa robot head, that's one of my all time fave animations :D Big thanks for that one :thumbsup

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Would you like foam templates for the whole Laputa's robot ?

Canobi -> this robot can fit nobody. But unless you'd want a display piece, here's what could be the shape of a wearable version.

If I ever release it, will you build it ? I mean, actually for real ?

About the MK1, I found it on kind of an eastern europe mini-cloud, all written in something like a suburban cyrillic... It's a low poly model as you can see. I assume it's not a big matter, in a sense, isn't already the MK1 sort of a low poly suit ? the "Cave Suit". I also can release a *.rar with foam templates. However I'd like to find out first the origin of this work.

Both should not take a long time to unfold, but if no one have the strong will to make them concrete, please understand I'll spend my time on something else, like unfolding my backlog of other suits, building, or, why not, working a bit more... ;)

Badly want one for display, I'm gathering referances and materials to do the broach as well ;)

Tip : double the scale factor for a 1/1 lifesized statue ^^
