I have that one, I thought I would look not expecting to find it but apparently there are people who collect old food labels. but why was I shocked I'm making my 3rd ORCA .One campbells soup lable
Some miniatures were secured on an underwater gimbal mimicking the up and down motion of the boat travelling on the waves. I'm eager to see how flimzy knowledge of filming miniature on the real sea will goI keep thinking about this project. It's going to look amazing on the water. It's going to scale so well.
Do you have a guess about how heavy it will be? The real Orca was heavy. I read somewhere that it was 13 (US) tons. It may take a lot of ballast weight to make that model sit right in the water.
The physics are never the same with minatures. But the weight and balance is going to be a factor. The real Orca had that big heavy wooden mast added on. And they piled more lead weights into the bottom of the hull to stablize it.
Zee? You might as well coat the whole hull, remember all the spray the bow makes underway in choppy water. This project is SO Big. I forget who makes it, but there is a rectangle 8ft kiddie pool. About 2ft deep. Amazon has them.Apoxy up to the water line just in caseView attachment 1931882
