Spent all day redrawing all the laser cut parts because I can’t just simply scale up the construction of version 2. The ply wood is all different thicknesses. It’s got a real day jar view feel about it.

Well, we of the local Jaws Support Group, I mean Club, are behind you on this. Waaaaaay behind. I had not even thought about the quality issues of just scaling up. All the little stuff that wouldn't catch the eye (yours of course not the floaty bits from the show) would really pop when scaled up. After seeing that dazzling replication in the spear gun, I can't even fathom what little details and differences you see that I do not. I lean haaaard on getting other people to proof my work because I do not have the magic. You can spend all the time you want on fixing laser cuts and we will just continue to cheer you on. Oh, it looks like the group is calling it a night. See you next session. ;)

Hi Flimzy, I only just came across these threads and your builds.

I just wanted to quickly mention that if you are around the South East/London area I can bring a real Greener Light Harpoon gun to you just to check accuracy etc. I don’t have the box and it’s not in a chrome finish however. Just the gun itself.

If you are interested please let me know.

Thankyou for your kind offer unfortunately I’d already machined the blanks so if there wrong it’s too late to fix them. But let me send you a drawing that you can lay next to yours and see what I got wrong, pm me your address.

No problem, sent earlier.

Can we get some pics of your finished Orca builds along with the Spinner and whatever else you made?

I feel we are lacking complete show off pics of your collection.
Great idea:cool::cool:(y)(y)...and can I have, at least, an early warning before posting pics; I would like to get a bucket to gather my drool, before looking at the pics:p:p:p

It’s a bit late tonight but I’ll try and take some photos tomorrow.
Today was spent laser cutting the main spin I’m sending out to get water cut it too much for my little machine. This project isn’t going to be cheap :-/

What a wonderful thread to visit. The old time (I assume) red navigation buoy small scale on shelf and the large scale, the blue prints, spear gun, mechanical sharks, the list goes on.
Always loved Jaws except when my off shore buddies hummed the theme song when swimming in the salt. Psychologically this discouraged me from cooling off on some of those summer fishing trips. Also, never swam around buoys.
