I can help it I’ve always been fast, when I went to Geek1138s work shop I asked him, how does he build those huge models all on his own and so fast. He said and I love this “ I get up in the morning do a little bit the go home, repeat till it done!”
Yes being in the industry has helped. I remember on Casino Royal we were shooting the end fight in the sinking hotel. The director said he wanted one of the actor to carry on fighting with a nice still sticking out of him. I went to the work shop cut the end of the real nice cut a quart of .75mm steel ,with 3 slots to thread some webbing, welded the half nice to the square and glued some neoprene on the back so it had no sharp edges. Walked back to stage in 15 minutes. If the crew hadn’t had something to do the 15 minutes would have cost about £20.000. So you learn to not think just do. Butttttttt every now and then you cock up . I must tell you about bat man’s ears one day.
