I'm gonna need a bigger boat,ORCA

Hey, I have been scouring ORCA build rpf forums because I have my own little virtual ORCA project and I made an account just to share something. You found a bunch of cool stuff out about the lower cabin and I used a lot of your references (like the toilet being flipped). I found an rpf forum that hasnt been updated since 2023 (guy disappeared mid-ORCA build) where he discussed having access to images that reveal the lower cabin room is 3 portholes instead of two. He even provided a computer recreation of the movie snapshot to show this. He said the photos would be released in a 50th anniversary documentary (which I'm guessing is the July 10th one?). Thought you should know this since you're making a new build. Love the work!

I so want to say something about the build you're speaking of but i'm not in fairness to creative skill and building skill. On a side note, watch Flimzy and the way she'll be doing the cabins. The both of us have been lucky enough to speak with Marty Milner, the man who actually worked on and built the real Orca 1 & 2 for the movie.
Toilet flips to the other side.......Flimzy Keep it on the right (starboard side) You were right about the film, audio strip and curvature of the film.

Yea I'm also mad he couldnt be more helpful about it, but I also lined up the shot and it looks like what he was saying is true about the three portholes.. did you guys ask Milner about it? I'm waiting to see if these photos he referenced actually come out in the documentary. Just thought I'd make an account to be some help though, love the models!

Can’t say I’ve ever worried about it. On all my models you see as much of the lower deck as in the movie, I think I mentioned it on my original thread I moved the wall to make room for the batteries, so I could swop the out easily.

I don’t know about the post your talking about but if the wall was moved all the way back it would be very thin, not leaving much room for the beds, we only know one thing for sure and that the width of the walk way between the beds because it lines up with the doors head up. not sure I’m going to do anything different on this build as getting to the battery’s is more important than something you can only see from one angle.
Not to say I wouldn’t be interested as a fan, to see more photos from the film.

it makes total sense, you have to make room for the functionality of your model, and if anything that post could be wrong (thats why I'm waiting for the documentary to confirm or deny it), I just wanted to toss out the idea. I believe the junk closet is in the smaller area underneath those boards beneath the pulpit. I also have the suspicion that the bed-thing connected to the work bench has three little squares on the side of it, that's the only way I can make sense of it. Yours is by far the most accurate though.
I also wanted to ask, in the scene that shows the toilet, the horizontal wall-lining planks look tan, so what are the horizontal planks shown when the shark begins ramming the ship and taking on water? Those were brown.

That was a set peace made on Joes drive way, it’s not part of the boat. Are you going to share your project here?

OK, I need to step in here and talk big guy movie talk...... hehe, but anyway...... I am blown away by your skill, you know that already but I am also blown away by how very little back end support you attempt to rally. Obviously, you are far more polite and humble than your talent level allows. You need (insert me faking my serious voice) funding.

So, in my own best interest, and in high hopes of seeing my name in the credits, I noted that those giving at the coffee stand:

coff.ee/FlimzyProduction

might very well get a spot in the credits.....

Which leads to me doing what I always do and negotiating for a bit of a competition.

Just how much ahead of everyone else do I need to be to grab "Executive Producer"? You know, because of my polite humble streak.... ha, ya no. Could toss around some numbers here to put some solid foundation under this.... boat... analogy failure imminent..... Not asking for the ability to provide input or guidance or even be involved in any way at all but to see the credits roll with "Executive Producer"...... Truly, there has to be a couple of us willing to battle it out for that. I am in no way even above average income so many of our group could easily outfund me...... :) Any chance of an Executive title in the credits (no strings attached, no ownership, no time frame nor promise of completion, just the spot in the credits)?

I mean, seriously, this wasn't even on my bucket list until now.

"Executive Producer"

I value my neck more than 3000 dollars chief. I’ll find him for 3 but catch him and kill him for 10.

For that you get the head the tail the hole dam think.

Thank you very much, so far there’s only been 4 donations so your in with a chance and gift, I’ve never done anything like this before , the money is more for the shoot than building the model. Because I’m going to need a crew this time to travel to the coast. (Uk I’m not that ambitious)
I think it’s safe to say you can have your credit.

Flimzy asked if I can post this, Hell yes we can! lol. Jaws fans here in the States are heading to Martha's Vineyard this weekend for JawsFest, Jaws 50th Anniversary. Marty Milner who Built the Real Orca 1 & 2 for the movie is there on the Vineyard ready for all the fun. Ladies and Gentleman, the ORCA 3 has pulled into town.
