Well for today’s WIP ,hinges on doors, sanding sealer on all the wood, a few little details wile a thunder storm hits.
The cabin dye is nearly right.
All that’s left from the wood working side is the front pulpit and the mast.
Then is on to the brass/ metal work.

Just so you don’t get the impression that everything goes well or I’m a perfectionist. On the first build I made a Beautiful timber water tank water sealed and painted black and it worked perfectly. On the second build I make a rocker which I wasn’t as happy with, as it didn’t give that real water feel so l’ve gone back to a tank idea but this time I cut corners using thin ply cheap timber ( a lot more light weight) thinking I’d fiber glass it, well I cheeped out on the fiber glass bought a Amazon resin kit and rushed the lay up. Now I do know how to fiberglass properly ( making molds in creature effects for 10 years) but this I truly ****** up. I don’t own a roller, tried doing it all in one peace and only had enough resin for the job so rushed to do it quick before the rain started. The result is

appalling. It will work but I hang my head in shame for not taking my time.

It'll work. After your done with it, I'd like to be buried in it, ass up with a hand crank music box handle on the side that plays "pop goes the weasel" and see who cranks it till the end of the song. Flimzy, that box is going to be so heavy filled, I actually can't wait to see this in use when the time comes.

Every once in a while we need a reminder to stick to the basics and not rush things because, 'I've got this, done it before" syndrome.We all do it.
