So, now that it is too late, did anyone watch the live feed with Jaime and Grant? It was fairly interesting. I'm wondering if I ever shot Grant in EVE Online.
It's kinda interesting seeing how the town is fairing after nine months of being under the control of the E-Rep. Nolan killing the cult guy in cold blood is a friendly reminder of how dark Nolan can be at times (even for the right reasons to). Seeing McCawley in the mines was quite a surprise, but seeing how the E-Reps are practically killing the miners by forcing the mind to remain open 24/7. We already knew of Amanda taking over the Need/Want, and apparently is really good at it (kinda wonder if she's also taken on the personal approach as he sister did). Quite interesting the scene between Amanda and Stahma, Stahma trying to tell her that her sister might be dead and Amanda not wanting to ear it. Seeing Datak and Doc Yewll and where they were was quite interesting. Kinda funny that Stahma had to go before she could complete her, um... Handy work. Couldn't help but laugh at the later scene between the Doc and Datak, and her response to him putting her hand on his junk. Typical Doc Ywell. Stahma has clearly taken over her husband's duties in The Business. Alak seemed to try his best, but apparently, to Stahma, it's not enough. Seeing Chicago and L.A. post-terraforming was quite interesting. Varus from the game has made the jump into the real world for a brief appearance, which was quite interesting. Wondering why Irisa attacked the red-hair Castithan. And that vision she had where she slices Nolan's throat had me going, "WHAT?!" And then finding out it was just a vision, it certainly freaked me the hell out.
The game had a recent mission that lead into the episode. First off, I was glad to see Nolan again in the game. I was even more glad that my Arkhunter, Chase Lonehart, got the chance to sock him right in the gut (serves him right. I let him go, and he and Irisa steal the gem, costing me 90k of scrip x 3. My in-game character is an honorable person, and he doesn't like letting down a client, even if it is someone like Varus. By having a happy client means a repeat customer. I always figured that losing the gem is the reason why he had us clear out an island of bad guys, his mine and even do smaller odd jobs, because of Nolan stealing the gem). I noticed that Cooper's voice is different now (it's the second voice that's different in the game. I fist noticed that Erin's voice was slightly different too, and learned that the voice actress was replaced). Went through a lot of 99ers trying to help Nolan find Irisa. Now we discover that apparently the Devouring Mother is apparently suppose to have a mate to go with her. Kinda wonder who the mate is suppose to be (maybe it's Tommy, since they were together in the first season? Maybe Sukar, since the Castithan woman was looking at male Iranthians?). All in all, a pretty good start for a new season. Can't wait to check out what happens next.
I'm super-excited by what I saw last night. I think that the premier was a strong start to the season. Stahma is amazing as ever and I'm digging Irisa's new look. Watch Irisa's eyes closely and you'll notice something very interesting, I think.
All-in-all, this season looks like it's going to be awesome.
@CB: I don't know if it's because my Ark Hunter is shorter, but it didn't look like she hit his GUT in that mission. Looked a bit south of the border, if you take my meaning! :eek :lol

I've checked Irisa's eyes and haven't noticed anything different about them. They appear to be the typically large pupils like seen in the other Irathients in both the show and the game.
LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if they did that just for the female characters. But for mine, which is a guy, it was clearly a punch to the stomach (and much deserved it was).
It was interesting seeing Varus from the game in the show. Yeah, I know he doesn't look like he does in the game, but then again, the Liberata and the Sensoths in the game don't visually match what's in the show (I think it's primarily that what's easy to do in the game is difficult to pull of exactly in live-action. It's like trying to do something from a comic book as a real object).
I think I like Doc Yewll. She's so snarky and quite an interesting character. Can't wait to see how things proceed for the show.
Also did anyone catch...
that Stahma makes mention of "opening the airlock again" during her straight talk with Alak? It's an official confirmation that she killed her fiancé that she was promised to).
I really don't think we need spoiler tags in this thread. But, until someone else agrees with me
1. Doc Yewll (who I really like and would hit it) is a possible war criminal and is in prison. Datak Tarr is a crime boss who killed an E-Rep offficer and is in prison. Two kids who painted anti-E-Rep grafitti are driven out to the woods to be killed by hellbugs. What?! Seriously, two angry kids are the dangerous ones?
2. How many times are they going to bring Sukar back from the dead? At the end of the episode when they show bits of the entire season they show him standing holding a rifle. If not for the rifle I could be convinced it is a vision.
3. Not happy seeing Amanda on some sort of drug. And I really don't like her outfit.
4. Looking forward to the four armed robot.
Agreed! I'd like to see that happen more often. I'm sure they could get someone like Brad Paisley, who's a well-known geek, to do something for the show for a reasonable cost.

Well, for Number 1 (I agree, I too would hit it), they hint that she's done some very terrible things as a scientist for the war, things that she does regret having to have done (as we get with the scene with her and Mayor Nikki in Episode 10 of Season 1). To me, I think she's much like the German scientists that worked for the Nazis who were later snatched up by America to use their knowledge for good. She's in prison because of her failure to give the E-Reps what they wanted (the weapon they were seeking on the ship buried in the ground under Defiance), not because of her past crimes. Datak, of course, killed an E-Rep General. When it comes to the two angry kids, basically, the E-Reps want compliance and those two kids were trying to invoke the town into killing the E-Rep. That is kind of dangerous to them, because if those kids message was heard, and they managed to rally a majority of the townsfolk, there's a good chance the E-Reps won't have a chance against Defiance, That's why they tried to kill them, so that no one else would get the same bright idea.
For Number 2, it's kinda hard not to know that Sukar was coming back. I mean, he turned back up alive and well in the Season 1 finale. Plus, Nolan didn't really kill him in the episode, but the nanites that were used to regenerate him were said to have restored him, but went offline after their mission was complete (which was to avert the Arkfall from crashing into Defiance). And at the end of that episode, they said Sukar was in a coma. I figured he'd eventually come out of it prior to the Season 1 finale.
3. Well, she's lost the job she was practically made for, Datak allowed the E-Reps to take over, Kenya is missing (we know what happened to her, but Amanda doesn't) and she's stuck being the manager of a brothel. If that isn't a recipe for depression, then I don't know what could be. But if she's depressed, she's going to want some means of numbing the pain (that's why most characters in literature drink or do drugs: it's a means for them to dull the pain). As for her outfit, well... I think it's more of a "business outfit", you know, a required uniform for that profession. The thing I wonder is if Amanda has taken on double-duty like Kenya did.
4. I'm looking forward to all of it, including the four-armed robot (wonder what's going on there).
That was Trace Akins? FML. I honestly didn't mind the real world songs used in the first season (which there were also in-universe songs every once in a while).
I wasn't quite sure whether I'd be as invested this season, but they have mixed up the formula enough -- while, in episode 2, sort of restoring the status quo -- that I'm totally hooked. And I'm enjoying the nods to the game. Just wish that the storytelling in the game was as effective as that in the show.

The game is becoming difficult for me to play now. I mean, before, I was able to play multiple missions and tasks back to back without any problems. Now, the enemy characters just stop in their tracks, you can't grab more ammo after your gun is empty, and a few other things too. I'm wondering if its something on my end or if its a problem in the game itself due to more players, and happening to other players.

I think the servers are getting overloaded now that it is free to play. Some of the things I have seen:
- Enemies will stop moving. They are easier to hit but they are still moving on the server and I will go flying because it just hit me.
- When I run around collecting ammo nothing seems to happen and then suddenly it flies to me from all over the area.
- Other players stop being rendered but I can see bad guys taking damage and dying.
