Defiance

I am really jazzed about the Castithan Charge Pack so far. The large-scale Volge attacks are AMAZING. And it was nice to get the option to rename my character. Look for Joe Montferrand (bonus Canuck points if you know what the hell I've named my character after) and we'll go shoot some ****.

Another thing I'm not a big fan of for the game is the extremely large updates that take two days to download. Seriously, they need to make the update be an executable so that people can download the update and not have to wait two days before they can join in the game.

I'm not sure what you're talking about... I had no problem downloading the update. Was the queue really jammed up when the update launched?

What I'm talking about is that when I game online recently, its at my parents house on my Dad's computer. They have DSL at their house and you can download a 300 mb file in under 10 minutes. When I got Defiance, I had to wait two days for the game to update. That's understandable, it's a freshly installed, a lot of necessary updates have happened since the game's release to the point where I got it. Now, new update and I end up having the same issue, which puts me at waiting two days for the new update to download before I can get back to playing the game again.

Right now, the download time varies between 18 hours and 15 minutes and 20 hours and 5 minutes, almost the same amount of time that was listed when I had to wait for the update the first time around (to which it took me two days to download).

It seems like their idea of an update is to put all the changes into the full install and make you reinstall everything while keeping your settings. The download was supposed to take four hours for me so I ended up starting it and going to bed.

Ps3 sn: Togasa
Defiance main: Brenson

Anyone from the rpf can add me. I want to start up an Roleplaying guild if anyone is interested.

Honestly, I wasn't sure if we needed to have a profile for the characters we created when it came to the game, but I whipped one up. Apparently, the download has sped up some, so since I'm waiting, I figured I'd share what I came up with my character (though it turns out its not really needed after all).

Name: Chase Lonehart
Age: 35
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Profession: Arkhunter/Historical Salvage Expert
Weaponry:
-Primary: FRC SAW with Radioactive Rounds
-Secondary: FRC Matchlock Boomer
Physical Description:
-Build/Physique: Athletic
-Skin: Light
-Hair: Brown
-Eyes: Blue, often described to have a "naturally sad look"
-Features: Beard
-Armor/Clothing: Wears a baseball cap with the word LAW on it, but wears E-Rep Peacekeeper armor (he's honestly waiting to find a better outfit)
Mental Description: Sane, Compassionate, Emotional (depending on the topic), Argumentative (depending on the situation), Friendly and Protective
Background:
Born in 2011, Chase has no memory of the world as it was before or the war that resulted in the change in everything. He grew up in Freedom, Alabama (formerly Pensacola, Florida before everything east of Panama City became the Quarantine Zone and everything west of Panama City was absorbed into Alabama), raised by Jebediah Lonehart and Cynthia Lonehart. After the war, when some Votan races turned up into the town, Jebediah formed "The Cowboys", a group dedicated to Arkfall and historical salvage (recovering items from the past from buildings that had been swallowed up by the Earth), which Chase eventually joined into at the age of 19. Cynthia Lonehart passed away due to a heart valve problem when Chase was 21. But the moment that would eventually change Chase's life was when he was at the age of 27. While performing a routine historical salvage, The Cowboys stumbled across a female Indogene who was being chased by Hellbugs. During the rescue, Jebediah was killed. After that, Chase relinquished control of the Cowboys to his father's second in command and left Freedom behind, the Indogene female going along with him.

He headed North, dropping off the female Indogene at the University of Alabama along the way, and ended up staying a year in the town of Defiance due to reports of the work prospects in the mines. After a year of saving enough scrip up, he moved on. At the age of 28, he eventually made it to Columbia, sold his Dodge Challenger and started working with a clearing crew to pave a path for the proposed Maglev towards the E-Rep city's edge. It was at age 35 when fate would screw Chase over once again, being approached by a Von Bach Industries "talent scout" who heard of Chase's work with the Cowboys and looking for Arkhunters and hired guns for a job in the Bay Area, figuring that his skills as a historical salvage expert would come in handy. Chase's gut told him not to accept the offer, but he thought it was going to be a cakewalk and a good amount of pay.

After the crash of the stratocarrier, Chase struggled to work as an independent Arkhunter, but felt more comfortable working with others, saving enough to buy a vehicle he was familiar with: a Dodge Challenger Hemi, orange in color. From there, he would go on group missions that were available. He avoids Top-Notch because of Eren Niden reminds him too much of the female Indogene he met years ago, despite running into her during group missions. He parks at what he considers the "top of the mountain" in the Mount Tam area when he sleeps. He often listens to many genres of pre-war music on the Challenger's built-in MP3 player as he drives.

Well I decided to go ahead and share a picture of my in-game character, especially since the show is coming back in June.

And his philosophy...

I like the new arkfalls. Except with the major arkfalls there are always people who do something along the lines of, "Weeee! I'm the first one inside with the Warmaster and I'm going to be the one to shoot all the locks." Or you get the guys who just don't care and only want the loot at the end. I got my Warmaster kill for the achievement so it does not bother me as much as it used to.

Yeah, I know what you mean, It was at least six times before I saw the Warmaster defeated,

Didn`t they cancel this show yet? the game was horrid free to play on day of release ouch... the show overall had some of the saddest special effects and character make up since the early 60s. was just bad.

Nope. The show just wrapped on filming Season 2 and is about to air in June. And the game is not that bad, and neither is the show. But then again, that's just my opinion.

Ack, spoilers!

Sent from my Etch A Sketch.

I don't know about spoilers. I mean, we already knew that Stahma was the brains behind Datak (and we naturally knew Datak was going to have to run because of the fact he killed that guy at the end of Season 1), that Alak and Christie got married and Rafe had his land, including his house, taken over by the E-Reps, all that was presented in Season 1. So, other than the fact that Staham is putting the moves on Rafe and revealing what we already knew, that she was the brains behind Datak, what spoilers are in here?

Well, imagine my surprise when the DLC downloads in under 20 minutes and it going to take about as long to install. Guess they finally figured out you can do an upgrade without having to reinstall the entire game.

Yeah, that's a good thing. :)

BTW, whipped up a funny image (or at least my attempt at humor).
