Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

But anyway, here is a find I was not expecting, a pair of Dior Blacktie 137, not only the correct black color, but with purple lenses already installed! I jumped on these as soon as I saw them, as I had only placeholder tort 137 (dyed blacker with Rit dye in my kitchen). The mystery here is if they belonged to a Stark fan, as the lenses imply, how did they end up in a consignment shop rather than Ebay?

They needed a bit of a polishing, but I am pretty pleased to mark one more movie frame off the list!

Can't say I haven't done the same, some I was happy, some I regret...
I'm already in that boat....the Jannssons i bought were way too tight. I finally had them feeling and fitting good. I was chasing perfection and....snapped them at the bridge.....are they toast?

There are places that do extreme repairs but likely cheaper to hunt down and buy another pair.
When adjusting, frame must be warm enough to not require a lot of force... warm it slowly but not too hot. Probably we've all had mishaps like this. I advise getting some cheap practice frames... you can find some junky acetate at a second hand shop or ebay, something cheap and ugly just to practice warming and adjusting acetate. $20 spent can a good investment this way.

I've adjusted many glasses before, these jannssons were a real bear. They were really curved at the bridge. Big time, I'm guessing the previous owner was a female since the glasses looked like they were for a tiny head. I ended up getting a lil heavy handed. Ugh.

Not Stark/RDJ related but, if I'm swinging for the fences, MCU adjacent... About 5 years ago I posted I was on the hunt for a pair of the Beausoleil Pop 4 sunglasses worn by Christian Troy from Nip/Tuck (our Foxverse Dr. Doom). We'll after all that time I found not one but two (second pair is still in transit). One for $20 and one for $60. It took a while but I finally found them.

I know it gets a little disheartening when searches come up dry and nothing is found for a long time but persistence is key. You just have to keep looking and celebrating the small victories we have as individuals and as a Frame Family. So with that being said, welcome new members! Welcome to the family, welcome to the brother/sistership of Stark/RDJ frames.

Soooo.... anyone wanna trade a black (blue gradient lense) and a tortoiseshell (brown gradient) TF Johnsons for x1 in Dark Havana? Both look great in my opinion but you know how it goes, the heart wants what the heart wants.

When i first saw these frames in the movie i thought they were unremarkable. The more you guys post about them the more I like em. They look good.classy.

They're understated compared to a lot of the movie frames, on film the flashy and large frames stand out. But the more subtly styled frames are very very wearable IRL. The Dior could go just fine with any outfit from casual to, well, Black Tie!

Indeed, I found 2 correct color Stark frames just this year! You have to enjoy the hunt. I ID other movie and film frames for fun too, and to build skill and knowledge. Got some Cartier this year because of the last MI movie.

I was kicking my own ass for snapping my OP Jannssons so I bought myself some OP Finley Esq OV5298 in the 145409 Sable colorway. Man I'm impressed. These glasses are classy as heck. They feel really solid and high quality. The sable reddish tones really dance (elegantly) in the light and they look great even with the stock polarized mirrors lenses. I feel guilty that I will swap them out in the future. Anyways these things look like they belong on the face of someone who owns a yacht or ripped a million people off at the stock exchange. I'm in love.

Has anyone ever ordered from the Initium Eyewear website? I did last Saturday, but they still haven't sent any order confirmation to the email I used to buy the frames. I called the phone number listed on the website and sent them a message from the Contact Us link on the website as well, but they have still not replied. Does anyone who has ordered from that website before know what I can do?

They'll probably take a few weeks off for the holidays or something. Or maybe they're backed up because the holidays.

Come to think of it, I don't feel obligated to leave this thread just because someone called me crazy. I'm always surprised when I see a face other than RDJ in full screen on my desktop. I reboot too. I got the Mosley Tribes Bromley at the Bay, with the precious presentation box. It hasn't arrived yet though. The Bromley suits me very well. The Initium Surgical Stainless Steel 3000 was too hard for me. The Bromley is more emotional with a clear lens than a dark lens.

You do have to email them. Their "customer service" line is basically non-existent since the ownership had changed. You won't get through to anyone. Email a few times and wait a few days for a response is your best bet.
