Bengrim's Darth Vader reveal project

I ran quick print for the ears on the resin printer oh boy was it quick, I’ve already put this printer away for workshop work but I had to get it out to run the print, excuse the rubbish print as I didn’t check any settings just stuck any resin in and pressed go, it also had a quick spray of black satin

Still a little to do on them but I must say they’ve turned it brilliantly apart from the crud resin print

Still waiting on the test metal cuts to come back so I got impatient and resin rested them, the print settings are ok ish, but I’ve got a little elephants foot on the pint ( bulging) around the base were the print meets the bed, very happy with the overall shape and size of things,

slight alterations needed on the lettering, 1-4 and LTRS if I’m to resin print a run also slight length alteration on the Y piece apart from that looking good

Remind me again Ben...what is the mask you´re using? CKING, 20Century Fox...

Curious, since I am still trying to find an alternative to the natty15d mask I currently have.
CfO does not offer casts of their ROTJ mask atm

I’ve finally had some metal test cuts back, I’ve had to readjust a couple and send them back for another test cut but some others are actually bang on, so pleased on how these are turning out

Just waiting on the engraver to confirm the LTRS test piece I gave him, need to chase him up

Before I start the side tubes I need to prepare the top fitting the jaw.

I need to even out the sides for the ally guide to fit in

Cut a rail, fitted it in, touch of filler then rub again

After a good rubbing down a quick coat of primer only to be rubbed back again later

Won’t be doing anything for a few days just decided to go on a camping vacation/holiday on Saturday till Tuesday, so gotta pack up the camping stuff

When I get back I’ll continue with the rails then look forward to cutting out the teeth to replace them,
Mmmmmm such joy cutting this helmet up just to rebuild it ( just how the original was done )
HOPEFULLY it will be worth it

Stunning work so far!
Will have to consult you if I ever get my hands on a CfO mask

You‘ll replace the teeth as well???

Someone mentioned to me the other day about people’s collection of materials for the reveal build,
It was a brilliant idea because we all could see what other builders had, needed, to much of, I think we could share more information on what they know about sizes of hoses and holes and things that not everyone was sure about because believe me I still need to know lots of information on measurements
So please if you want to join in
What have you got, what information do you need

Please remember this is not a want to buy post that is for the junkyard, if your selling extras or wish to buy PLEASE put it in the junkyard

So please participate if you can all are welcome

Back from a 14 day vacation in sunny Tenerife, thought I’d finish a custom Mando helmet for the collection, going to chase up some metal parts that should’ve been cut while I was away, going to do some marking up filling and sanding on the reveal for a couple of days before my hernia operation on Wednesday then back at it for a while before the surgeon makes a decision on my ruptured EPL tendon in my left thumb, hey ho life cracks on

Had some test cuts back this evening and I’ve re- jiggled one piece, no need to test cut this as I know it’s fine, the main pieces are now ready for a mass volume cut, I’ll get a few kits cut for now.

I’ve now sent all the individual ear parts in for a test cut, when they finally come back it will be off to the lath to machine all the joints up

Still waiting on the engraving to be done LTRS and 1-4, might have to find someone else
