I have been slowly working on making the Grail Diary. Starting with the inserts. Done the Money on tracing paper, it has a nice feel to it. Going to thrift shops and buying old books to get the paper from. I have quite a collection of paper now, various weights and textures.
Petertiger gave me some great pdf files, which I really appreciate. I'm thinking of making 2 dairies. One more traditional and the other a story diary. I want to do a lot of the illustrations myself. However where pages are dupilcated in the movie one, I reckon I will just print those ones off.
I started on the rubbing this week. I had tried using clay, but the transfer was a failure and too hard to see the writing. After different methods I decided to make my own. I used my Cricut machine to cut vinyl and place the paper over it to get my rubbing. I used newsprint paper which is thin and light. Similar to butchers paper but lighter. We used to use it when I was a kid to do rubbings inside church's back in in England. We used wax crayon. I use Crayola chestnut crayon for this rubbing.
