ANH Vader Stunt Lightsaber

I always figured it was a contact plate or something. Or, if it is threaded on the inside then a plate to allow you to screw the original parts together.

I don’t seem to have much saved other than pictures etc. I’m not sure what all was discussed now, but there was planning etc for the Barbican.

I can’t give proper credits for photos so if anyone has objections let me know.

Always wondered what that little hole was for on the Bunny Saber, theres a little slotted screw there on this saber! (and one lower, whoa)

Also, the blue lines immediately suggest one long tube with a choke held in place with the set screw, but that last photo shows a separate emitter!

Some of those drawings were just ideas on how it might have been built, don’t take any of them as gospel of course. There may be better photos/info now or even better ideas on how it was all built. I know at the time we were all debating how the end cap assembled as well.

This is a great discovery, so are we all ok board that the barbican greeblie is the bottom part of the dv6 Control Box?

two of those little brass screws!

yes, I'm on board with the idea that this is the bottom plate of the DV6 box, with a section cut away. Should be identical on both sides, section for the big hole and a second rectangular area at the ends. This greeblie has one of those ends cut away. See DV-barbican-box.jpg in the post above with all the pics

It may or may not be a cut down version of the DV6 control box...it could be another version of it that’s shorter, perhaps even a mating piece for the DV6 control box. It’s certainly related in some way though. There were more pics that I have saved but not 100% sure what has all been seen before.

I distinctly remember an archived thread on the DV6 saber that did not get carried over to the new site. I used to it build my own! A member sculpted and cast his own boxes in pewter, and I used that

Speaking of fat grips, with only wide shots to work from, what are others getting for their thickness? I have some 5mm thick black foam to try but I'm thinking more like 3mm so they look like regular grips with the fin missing.

Dang, in trying to make the energizer bunny saber I realized the thick emitter meant it HAD to be a separate piece.

I think this is the case with the Vader ANH Stunt. The empty countersunk holes tell me the tube is no more than 1/8" ish thick. The emitter walls are MUCH thicker, but the same diameter. How do you stack the same diameter pipe on the end of another and get it to stay put?

In this case one has a much thicker wall than the other, so personally I would turn down a short length of the thicker one to fit inside the thinner one. The joint hidden under the 'shroud' - unless the shroud & emitter are one piece in which case the thinner walled tube can fit straight into the shroud.

I've seen a repro on RPF of such a one piece shroud emitter - haliwax was talking about it I think, but I've no ref one way or the other what was actually used.

My friends - unless I am mistaken, which happens all the time OR Disney shopped it in, but I don't think that's the case - the Barbican was used as a fighting stunt on the catwalk. Specifically, I've found it in the scene where Luke and Vader spar and then Luke blasts Vader's shoulder open with a pyro charge.

I think there are bubbles in it too, but I'm not sure about that. MPP clamp, fake shroud and thick machined endcap
