Y-Wing Building

So we just say finally that they are from the Handley Page 0/400.

Since it's been a few days here's something new for ya'll
I'm 99% sure that these are the correct exhaust pipes. Minus 1 cylinder of course.
A WWI Biplane was stated earlier in the thread. That one is not correct. As it only
has one engine.
The 4 so called "Muffler's" have made fun of me since the start. But thanx to a clue
or two ;) I was finally able to track them down. So here's a clue for anyone still
looking. All 4 halves are in the same kit and don't look down at the ocean. LoL
The remaining kits have been mentioned in the thread.

Been a month so heres something new, and pretty prominent too.
I'm currently working on casting these and several other bits.
Anyone thats interested can send me a PM. I'll sell them for cheap.
But I'd really much rather trade ;)
I don't plan on casting the LEM so You'll have to get your own Saturn V though. :p

What parts are looking for? I know you don't need the Handle Page parts or the HMS Mauratainia skylights.

Oh did I say those out loud? :rolleyes Oh well.

Alan

JEEZ. You gave away the surprise ending. :lol :lol

I'd trade anything for the names of the 15 or so kits I've
not yet discovered :love
But barring that. I'd trade anything just for casts from the
Sturmgeschutz or the Musashi (Or is that Yamato)
That's up to and including a big 'ol Panzer 4 I might just
happen to have. ;)

For those of you just following along. You might want to
look that over again as there could be clues there :ninja

I take it that's one of the few remaining you've been looking for. :D
Same here :rolleyes
Well, back to the search. LoL

Here's the last remaining major parts/structures I'm missing. Anyone have clearer reference of any of these parts/areas?

I've been meaning to check, but have not had the time yet... the picture with the highlighted parts that sit just to the right of the Sealab "tube," which in turn sits just forward of the Apollo LEM - Part of that looks like a round piece from the Nichimo JagdTiger with a piece from a Tamiya 1:12 Race Car on the top of it. What the rest of it might be, I have no clue.

Kuhn's shots of his MR Y Wing are pretty good. Perhaps they would help. Do you have the originals of the shots you've highlighted below?

I got a couple of Bandai 1:48 tanks, and here's what I found...

Tiger_I.jpg

The center detail of the engine grille appears on the bottom of the Y (on the bottom of one of the "protruding boxes" underneath the wings).

engine_block_halves.jpg

Here, all the engine block halves except the Tiger I appear to be the same. None of them seem to quite match what's on the Y, as that one appears not to have a notch cut out of the box with the x on it. Even still, I highlighted the names in blue because they are close enough in my book and I don't want to buy many more of these... except the one I will mention.

gun_breaches.jpg

Here, it seems that the Panther G has the correct gun breach for inside the engine recess spaces. There may be another tank with them too, but the other three are wrong. I put a box around that other Panther G detail piece because I have seen it on someone's Y - don't know for sure if it's on the original Y's or not.

valve_covers.jpg

In the above picture, you can see that all the valve covers are the same. On this it doesn't really matter which you use.

Those two pictures at the bottom are other detail pieces in the engine recesses but I don't know what they are. I don't have good enough ref pics to make them out.

I cannot find any other pieces in the King Tiger yet, so I am not so certain you even need it. So the only conclusion I can draw from this, barring any later discoveries, is that the only Bandai 1:48 tanks I can confirm when it comes to the detail parts in question are the:

TIGER I
PANTHER G

These two seem to cover the Bandai 1:48 tank parts that I know of, but like I said before there might be something that I haven't caught yet.

Nice finds. I've discovered one part from the Jagd Panther or Panther G used on the model shown top view in Chronicles 9(see attached link) and the Kubelwagen is used on the neck side. I've opted for the Tiger I valve covers and Panther "G engine blocks. I haven't seen anything reconciling the missing notch in the X portion of the block yet. Perhaps it was filled in for some reason?

Assuming the photos of the MR model showing up are accurate, they're the best reference material I've seen in years. Would owners of this model take an extra photo or two of detailed areas when asked? I'm also interested in the detailing just behind the Sat V exhaust cones. Any good shots would be appreciated.

Thanks to Kuhn's MR reference photos (which I assume are accurate), I've discovered a few more parts on the bottom. Probably known by many, but thought I'd post anyway.
