USS ENTERPRISE 11 FOOT 3D PRINTED MODEL

My only c
Top side of the saucer is nearly there...just got the blinking lights to put under the port and starboard marbles to do. And then the final frontier...assembly, and she's done;

She looks amazing!!! My only observation (not a criticism) is that the bridge dome is not flat enough compared to the production version. You seem to have replicated the dome prior to the last restoration which is more round. The current restoration also appears to be more flat than your version.

Thanks for your input feek61, and you are surely correct about the top dome...well spotted. I will let the new custodian of this vessel sort that out though, as the ship is on it's way out the door

So some final shots of her , all assembled with all the lights on and no winch or means of support other than the single foot...can't really shoot it properly in my workshop, so hopefully when it's settled into it's new home;

Incredible work. Timeless, one of a kind space ship deign. Will inspire future generations of children and adults that visit the new home. Artists have that impact.

Wish I knew but they did.

So the next big issue to tackle is the colour of the hull...the 'official' colour as stated by the Smithsonian restoration team is 'Benjamin Moore, Heather Grey', so I tried a test piece and it is very greeny grey and not how I remember it from my childhood in front of the tele. I read that the original creators knew that they were shooting TOS on Kodakchrome film which was known to have a blue-ish tint, so adjusted the paint accordingly. So if you paint your ship that colour and don't have that blue-ing filter on it. it will look too green and just plain wrong.
This info is incorrect. The Enterprise was filmed for bluescreen compositing, which requires a color negative for the various printing steps to make mattes. Kodachrome is a reversal film which has no negative. Reversal films also have very high contrast and aren't suitable for multiple duplication steps.

Awesome build (y)
