Update: Solo Elite Edition just arrived!

Will they open the sale up to buyers outside the collectorÂ’s society?[/b]

MR already did this 3 weeks ago. They allowed certain authorized dealers to order these from them. So much for it being a CS "exclusive."

DHL had estimated a delivery for 12-19, but it showed up at our office about 30 minutes ago. I think our HR person wasn't pleased to walk in and see me holding a gun at my desk, but I assured her it was indeed fake, as did my co-worker. It'll probably show up in my review next week.... :confused

The packing was first rate, with large styrofoam sections on top and bottom, and the case and blaster box are easy to get to, unlike the multiple boxes the LE had each part in. I was impressed by the weight of the blaster, and it looks great. My co-worker said it looked like a real gun to her. I checked the plaque and I got #738 out of 1250. It looks like it has a black polishing cloth with it too. Nice touch.

I'll post pics later of it side by side with my LE if you guys want me to, and a scan of the prop info.

Good job on this blaster, MR. I'm impressed with the detail in it. :thumbsup

Congrats. :thumbsup Can't wait to see those pics.

BTW: I pre-ordered one at Toy Palace some time ago.

So much for being a CS exclusive....

I'll definitely shoot some tonight after I get home from work.

The scope lens with the molded crosshairs wasn't my favorite feature, but it's good to be able to see through the scope, though it's a bit distorted by the clear plastic. I picked up the little "broken" sight piece they include, and it felt like it was metal too. Nice touch. The base Mauser detail looks really good to me, though I've never held the real gun it is based on for comparison, but our resident blaster experts will hopefully chime in when they receive theirs for a full review. :)

I like it, and can't wait to get home and really look it over. Gonna have to dig out the LE box so I can pack it away, as I don't have the shelf room for both right now. :p

Here's a scan of the "prop info" from the info packet....

I would like to see pics of this next to the LE.

Thanks

I'll snap some right after work when I get home. :)

Here's a few comparison pics. Oh, and one more thing.... the windage adjustment on the scope is now adjustable. I also took the sticker out of the flash hider, by taking it off and popping out the black plastic spacer inside and it peels off the spacer very easily. I turned the flash hider to see the "offset" look, and it's not angled like the pics of the real prop, it just drops the hider downward a bit. It feels a little heavier than the LE, and the detail between the LE and EE Mauser bodies is quite evident. The LE though, still is a very nice blaster replica, and will be hard to part with, but I think I will to help pay for this new one. I think MR did a damned nice job with this one. The display base is nice too, with very thick plastic to support the gun, plus a piece to hold the lanyard ring and keep the gun from tilting on the supports.

WOW.... Thanks for the comparison pics Betamin. It really shows how much nicer the EE is indeed. The new mauser when compared to a Denix is like apples & oranges........

I'm starting to realize that this gun could/should only come as it is, in pristine condition. To weather it as the LE's were really doesn't come close to what is representative of the film prop. Silver paint does not a Star Wars prop make ;)

Fantastic prop you have there Betamin.

I realize you guys have hashed this out, but boy... Man comes on and osts his pride and exuberance about a pending prop purchase, and you piss on his excitement.

Your assertion that the "slam" was not directed at Betamin, but at MR, doesn't account for much -- your post was either A.) Rude and impolite, or B.) Insensitive and a demonstartion of a lack of insight as to how it may affect Betamin.

Either way, you loose. Either way, it was an uncalled for post.

What's up with the large radius cut out on both sides of the heatsink on the front of the magazine?

On page 91 of the Chronicles you can clearly see it wasn't that big?

The scope side seems like it may be a bit overdone, personally I can't quite tell from the page 91 pics myself (good catch Gytheran.) but the left side seems pretty close:

Now that you mention it I saw one up on eBay the other day with a Buy It Now of around $900.

Man, it's amazing how rough and nasty looking that front part really was on the real prop, where the back edges were cut out.

Even though I'm not a big MR fan, the blaster looks fantastic. And yes, I think the "remark" was uncalled for.

Thanks for the comparison pics Betamin - it's great to finally see them side by side :)

A friend of mine has the LE, and I've just received an EE so at some point I will get a chance to compare them together. However from the looks of it I think MR seem to have done a great job on both the LE and the EE - I'm not sure which I'd pick as a favourite as they each have their advantages and disadvanteges to me.
