The unthinkable has happened...

Kinda a weird subject, I assumed if you started out making a suit like this you do it to have fun in the first place. I mean, why would you otherwise start commencing on building a suit? You have to spend your free time doing something anyway and I'm happy it's not trimming the hedge to perfection and waiting for an unwanted weath to pop up. Although the majority of the people are like this a few focus their attention on something else and actually do something productive with their time. Building a suit like that is being creative! It's different than drawing or painting but you are being creative, you make something from nothing and use your own imagination to let it happen. (and lots of latex and stuff too )
Good to see you've made the decision already :)

I must say that I never expected some kind of payoff with the completion of my suit...other than the satisfaction of a job (hopefully) well done.

It was just the way the question was worded, and it just kinda hit me, you know? When someone presents something to you in a certain way, it makes you stop and take notice...which is what happened with me. And then it just snowballed out of control...guess you could say I got freaked out. And I completely agree, if I wasn't doing this, I don't know what I'd be doing!

Actually I do know, I'd be sitting in front of the TV for most of the time. Yeah, that's productive as well as fulfilling.

Exactly my point. There are so many things to do to pass free time, I know so many people who just watch the latest shows on tv one after another....it's fun too but you know, if you have a hobby that's a little more personal I think you get a higher feeling of achievement. Seeing it all come together must be fun as hell (of course it can get frustrating at times) but once it's done you've reached your goal you set out to accomplish, it must feel good. It's like how many people can say they've created a predator costume?? It's awesome, I hope you'll get many positive feedback at the AVP-R premiere at your theatre! :)

Can't you just make a costume to have a costume? Get a camera? make a movie with some friends? IDK.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking about that too. My brother in law and some of his friends have made a handfull of low budget movies that are actually pretty good. He and I are talking about doing a short Predator movie, how I'll get to do that is seriously in question as I have a 4 y.o. boy and my wife is pregnant with our second. Once that one arrives, I probably won't have time for another 5 years! :)
