Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

Hey thanks for the quick reply

Yeah I got it in PDF format in colour or but it doesn't t have the ID numbers on it and since its coloured you cant really see the folding lines...

Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

I've done some PDF prints of Pepakura projects for some people and I am able to get the edge IDs on there. You just have to set it up in the Pepakura software options.

Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

Can I use the pepakura viewer software to save the pdo file as pdf?

Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

I normally print to PDF, I don't think you can save to PDF natively.

Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

You can print the pdf without IDs and fold lines, cut everything out and than write the IDs yourself from pep viewer.

Re: How do I print pepakura if I don't have a printer?

Yeah that sounds like the complicated way of doing it, I was hoping there's a better solution but thanks.

If anyone can think of another way please share, cheers guys

OK maybe i overlooked this question but i am about 10min from tossing my whole project i finally got all the things needed for the build and when i try to download the pep files and open to pep designer it says " Cannot load file of specified type" can anyone please help with this problem or has anyone had this issue?

**ASSISTANCE NEEDED" editing pepakura files

Hey anyone know if its possible to edit colors on pep files? I know I could print them on colored cardstock but I'm not interestes in printing. I'd like to see what things would look like in a different color scheme. Thx

Re: **ASSISTANCE NEEDED" editing pepakura files

Long answer : yes.
If the 3D object embedded in your pdo file is already textured, or has some UV maps, you can change the texture images through the Setting menu.

You can input an image of 1px*1px if you want to get a simple plain color.
The number of separate areas that can be set depends of the UV-map settings initially applied to the 3D object.

Re: **ASSISTANCE NEEDED" editing pepakura files

Yes, it is.
If you prefer re-editing the object to add mappings, then you loose all the unfolding work... :\

Re: **ASSISTANCE NEEDED" editing pepakura files

If you're just testing texture schemes, you shouldn't need to worry about unfolding.

65lb - 100lb...misleading. You can get many different actual weights in these ranges. e.g. paper vs. card/cover stock.

If you can find the gsm value for the paper, that's what counts.

Try to get close to 200 (or better).
I've got a ream of "index card stock 110lb) from OfficeMax. It's 198.9 gsm...a good weight. Myself I wouldn't prefer lower.
I also have some 65lb stuff...that's 240gsm. Much heavier...the lbs are not measured on an equal scale.

Hey guys, just a question on cardstock. what is a bond weight to get? I see 65lb-110lb. Just wondering if i've using the wrong stuff. Thanx... GM

Re: cardstock weight and silhouette cameo

I'm using some very heavy duty cardstock (240gsm). I expect i'll go through 5 - 6blades for my Iron Man...(robo's files, stock size).

I ruined one blade fairly quickly by setting the depth of the blade too deep.
The lighter the paper, the longer the blade will last.2 of my blades broke over time from the constant cutting of that paper with the heavy coating.

Some lighter cardstock i have (198 gsm) ,which is not heavily finished like the above, would probably only need 2-3 blades at most.

I just received my cameo the other day
and still in the process of calibrating it
now since I don't want to waste the blade cutting test pieces I took a gel pen wrap some masking tape around it until it got to the proper thickness and put it in the blade holder I decided to do this because the blades are about $13 apiece now I've been trying to research what weight card stock to use with the cameo so the blades will last.

any help would be appreciated

thanks Viperr13 a.k.a. Eddie

i'm in the midst of making Zabana's hand files and the problem i have is that my fingers are much too thin for them, I've tried using the longer versions, but they are also quite big around for my fingers, i scaled them back to .853 so the length is perfect, but the circumference of all of them is way off, how do i make them thinner in pep designer?

Help with resining a pepakura object

I am getting ready to start my first pepakura file and then I want to fiberglass resin it, before adding the bondo (duhh). I was wondering if anyone had sugestions as to where they get their fiberglass resin from?

Also is it a good idea to actualy fiberglass the piece also or just resin, then bondo?

Thanks.
