T1 and T2 Endoskeleton Research Thread

Would vac-forming some of the bigger parts be an option or are there too many details and trapping areas for that?

I actually found the post I remembered... but it was him showing his kit and not the black primed endoskeleton in the backyard. And seems he's been inactive for a long time.

Oh yeah. Got pictures of the knee from Propstore, so will use those to fix the knee model. For the other one I'll just have to wing it until better reference comes along.

Some pieces cannot be vacu-formed (too many nooks and cranies) Some of the vacu-formed should be reinforced with fiberglass.

That seems to be a different endoskeleton compared to this one (I don't have a bigger image at the moment):

Also, I own a T1 style skull though I don't think it's a prop or cast from. I don't know anything about its background. You can see photos of it here:

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, I would like to try to make a T2 endo arm. Ideally I would eventually like a metal one but thought it would be fun to try a 3D printed one first and update parts to metal over time.

Could someone please let me know what the best filament and 3D print file to use?

Thank you so much!

HopeOfTheFuture: those are some cool pictures. That one is the same as gizmo posted earlier in the thread. At first I would have pegged it as an M1 because of the two dots on the left cheek side under the temple, but it has later been shown that it is something else. Notice the circle detail in the front cover is similar to how it initially was on the sculpt, before it turned into the version seen on the production skulls. So it could be argued that it is pre-production style.

Did you remove the original detail casting in the temple and replace it with the model kit piece originally used, or is that how it was on your casting?

Hi leonuk: it is okay to ask those things in this thread, but would prefer you start a new thread if you show print and progress, though you are free to link to it here as what you do may be of great use to others making arms or full endoskeletons. :)

There are a few endoskeleton hand models linked in this thread that are about the best I have found online. Currently there are 2 or 3 available on Thingiverse that seems reasonable, though cannot guarantee their accuracy. You could probably replace the pistons with the ones I uploaded to Thingiverse.

As far as I know, the "T1" one I have is not a kit. I bought it like this. The previous owner only remembered he bought it many many years ago in a store. I did not adjust anything on that skull.

Okay. Well someone must have finished it. Would have been interesting to know if anything was done to it to alter it from how the casting was. Though, if that was how it was originally before finishing, then that's pretty awesome.

Having checked the LFS neck against the neck picture from Stan Winston Studios that ghostman posted it appears that the LFS is pretty accurate to how the original model is positioned, except the top one. That one is completely misaligned while the others line up fairly well. So my original observation that the top piece was the only one that really needed repositioning seems to not be too far off.

Hopeofthefuture I’ve seen your skull before when you posted it ages ago. It’s very cool indeed. Someone has got to know the story behind these similar skulls that have been out there from long ago. I’ve gotta message T-Studio and see what he knows. Supposedly he flew to America from Japan to find out as he has one, although just the upper skull part.

Ben
