Speeder Bike

I forgot to pre-order in the morning. By the time I got to it, (that night) I had to settle for the waiting list. I remember talking to the engineer at C4 and he said the pre-orders help them determine how many to make... so I'm not sure I understand the waiting list concept at this point... unless they HAVE pre-determined how many they'll make. Has anyone heard or read of a number? I don't remember seeing one on their site. Alan

The new pics of the build master on the site look great, ive always wanted to see the bike without rider to get an angle on the shape of the prop/fullsize.
Cant say im in on the Sideshow though, way overpriced and not on my most wanted list, cant wait to see you guys getting them mind :)

Yahoo!!!!

I missed out on preordering one, it was sold out within 9 hours.

I just got a email from Sideshow stating that my WAIT LIST has become a official order. Here's part of the email.

Dear Gerardo:

You recently placed a reservation for an item on our Wait List. Due to recent cancellations and credit card declines, one of these items has become available for fulfillment.

I thought I was on the wait list, as well. I scrambled to get an order in when I got home, but by the time I tapped in all my info, the one in my "cart" sold out from under me. Need faster fingers!

Anyway, I logged onto my Sideshow account last night. My "Reservation" had changed to an "Order Placed" status. I didn't get an email, though. I'm not certain I actually have a spot for the product, but it seems like I do from all appearances.

Anyone know anything about Sideshow's order system? I suppose I should call them on Monday.

By the way, I found this page that shows how the figure will be articulated [Edit: scroll down past the text]:

I snapped this at Celebration IV at the Sideshow booth

It would be great to get a list of models that were used to build this SS.

Nice pic!

I think the studio model bikes were more or less entirely scratch-built based on the full scale bikes made for the actors. Pedals, handlebars and forks were cast by a jewelry maker. I don't think many (if any) model kit parts were used on the bikes. The front of the bike looks alot like a Ferrari 312 upper body. However, even the largest (1/12) Tamiya kits of the F1 are too small to be used for the ss bikes.
