Don't want to invoke anyones wrath but am I alone in hating sigs? They take up far too much sceen space and are generally bloody irritating. Almost as bad as flash animations on many website home pages. Once a member has a opened a topic or replied for the first time with their sig, is it not possible to remove it from subsequent posts for an individual thread. Anyone relying on their sig for selling still gets to show it off once per thread, and it would make for far easier reading of topic. This would save everyone having to scroll through masses of pages with the same logos/sigs allowing you to see the wood from the trees.
Avatars are fine as they don't take up any more space being in the sidebar and can also be used as a signature anyway.
Think of the server space that would be saved too.
I tried viwwing this topic in low-fi and it's only 2 pages compared with 5 in hi-fi, BUT it still displays sigs. Surely they could be removed from the low-fi version.
Again I don't mean to upset anyone and I'm probably the only grumpy ******* that doesn't like them.

Some people like and some don't. If you want to turn them off, you can in "My Controls --> Board Settings --> Do you wish to view members signatures when reading topics?

Uncheck the box and walaa! No more sigs !

Ah ha, how did I manage to miss that function. Problem solved and everyone gets what they want, sigs or no sigs. Guess what my contol panel will be set to? Thanks Predatrhunter for pointing that out.

i like the sigs here, they're sensible sizes and colourful. you wanna get irritated by sigs, go see the WWE forums. fkn things are up to a page long >:-(

I've changed my settings to "don't show sigs or avatars" and guess what, I still see the bloody sigs. Tried logging off and restarting forum with same result.
It's ironic that I've managed to remove Avatars that I don't mind as much.
