Show your Dr. Who props!

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I was holding out hope that when they mead it to a new exhibit they would flip a different key over and we'd be able to know what it really on the middle one. I mean we know what is on there, just not the colors or exact layout of course. Still, after all this time I would have thought we's have seen it by now.

Here is another one that I bought a few months ago; a blank pages version of the Doctor's diary, with artificially aged pages...

(I am hoping to illustrate this one, if I have the time and the patience!)

Another recent acquisition; a blank pages version of River Song's diary, with artificially aged pages and leather cover...

I was digging around the attic and found these!

*The tin was bought after the episode in which Tom Baker used it (quiz time...guesses anyone?) I have 2 versions. This is the two layer tin my original, which I purchased in '74, *before the Baker ep was transmitted, was the single layer tin.

The TARDIS key is a Spirit of Light model. Bought in the mid '80's.

The Sonic is in its extended mode. Its handmade. I made it from aluminium rods, *a body of a pen ( for the black bit) a mag light end and bullet section from the spirit of light plastic Sonic. All held together with Araldite rapid glue. It was made in the late '80. I hand cut and sanded each piece added a spring inside and worked out a system with a pen tube to get it extend when pulled and twisted. 25 yrs on and it still works.

I have somewhere 6th Drs. 1st Cat Badge and a homemade TARDIS key, made from an aluminium sheet when I was at school *that surprisingly is almost the correct size. When I find em i'll post em!

Oh my! I just noticed this post. Dude, that sonic is really awesome! If you hadn't told me I wouldn't have known that was a found item build. Very nice sonic!

Cheers Straker. Its totally wrong when compared against the actual prop (no slanted section at the bottom of the handle, wrong scale etc) but I'm very proud of my younger self for making this. Currently putting together another based on the Door Handle and 3 Drs version but with a modern twist ;)

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

I've looked into this one myself because of the ties it has to the Tennant era. The work on this is beautiful. If I were a River fan I'd have gotten one by now I'm sure, but i keep holding off because of that fact. Still, it woudl make a nice collection piece.

That's going to be a great painting! Very impressive.

Today I got in my latest piece beautifully recreated by Mooncrest Models. The TARDIS Dematerialization Circuit.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Well if any of you guys were watching the last Sixteen 12 Baker sonic that was on eBay be glad you didn't win it. I did and was shipped a box with the display stand and no sonic. The seller then tells me he didn't think to open the box when he bought it originally to look and see if everything was there, which sounds insane even as I type it. At least he was quick with the refund.

Beyond super disappointed, somewhere in the world sonic 140 of 800 is without it's home.

oh, I was kicking around because I didn't win it. Now I'm happy I didn't :)
Though, sorry to hear that.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Ah mate, what a massive dissapointment! Sorry to hear that!

Yeah, it was a huge let down. I can't even begin to understand why the seller wouldn't check to make sure everything was there before listing it or even buying it himself, but he was quick with the refund so I don't think he was trying to rip me off or anything.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

Yeah, it sounds like a totally bizzare, but honest mistake.

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

So I combined the best of my fandoms (My girlfriend & Doctor Who) and made her Amy's Engagement ring! Hope she likes it.

From the show..

Re: Show your Dr. Who props!

That rules!!! Are you planning on proposing with that or just giving it to her? You do know it'll be mixed signals if you give it to her for cosplay and not as a real proposal.
