Shining, The

I'm kind of late to this party, but here's my poster of the Overlook Maze; while not 100% accurate, this stands out from all known replicas, mostly because it has the much desired text on the bottom parchment (this goes specially for asavage, who at some point -8 years ago, I think- asked for help deciphering the text). I can't take credit for this, as the text was identified 3 years ago by ObsessedJared, a Reddit user:
It is spot on:

He also posted an image with excerpts from the back of the said book (in case you want to read it, here's the borrowable book on archive.org ==> Mazes and labyrinths; their history and development : Matthews, William Henry, 1882- : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive):

And the Overlook Maze poster (not at scale - I estimated the original somewhere at 1215 x 910 mm):

Hi-res version here ==> The Overlook Maze Final.png.

Everything was made from scratch, and while I have found some similar fonts for The Overlook Maze and Mazes & Labyrinths, I modified the letters from those fonts as close as possible to the original.

The main differences between the drawing and the model from the hotel lobby are these:
The Overlook Maze Comp.png
The lower corner images with the maze layout were achieved by using the images from the top corner and fixing the perspective of the model.

Also, I noticed in all the lobby scenes, where the maze model is visible in the background, that there were at least 2 plaques at the base of the model (front and left as you look at it):
Maze Model Plaques 1.png Maze Model Plaques 2.png Maze Model Plaques 3.png

But in the scene where Jack approaches the model, the plaques are no longer visible:

The only BTS image I have found with a visible plaque on the back of the maze model is this:

So either there were 4 plaques, one on each side and they removed two of them, or there were only two, one on the front and one on the left, but were moved to the back and right side for the close-up scenes.

I'm working on a 3D model of the maze model, which is 90% done:

And a crude overlay with Jack looking at my model:

Used the end photo posted here ==> The Shining Photo and run it through Topaz Photo AI to enhance most of the faces and some details. While the program did a pretty good job with the faces in the foreground; some of the faces on the mid to back had weird, unfocused (looking at different directions) eyes which I corrected, but left untouched the ones in the far back. The text was fully redone with correctish font:

And the original photo or what might have looked before pre-production:

On a side note, someone on Reddit (again) have identified the guy replaced by Jack:

It is Santos Casani, a well-known London dancer/dance teacher in the 1920s; the whole thread worth reading for more info.

Also, there are at lest 2 other threads with interesting facts/assumptions regarding the place the photo was taken:

I'm working on reproducing Jack's well known typewriter pages to incorporate most of the misaligned letters/sentences or even some of the different pressure prints on some letters. Here's an example:
All work.jpg Typewriter Pages 1.png

I have found a typewriter font called Italian Typewriter UC (unicode version) that is 90-95% match, only the dots had to be bolded for added accuracy.

Once again, amazing stuff, thank you!

And there's nothing wrong with a few "ghostly" faces in the background...that kind of fits the premise!

I managed to identify some props (mostly paper) from the movie, but in that process I have found out that many were already known.
I think these were not identified yet by others:

Not 100% correct, as these models don't have the red stripe at the top.

These were already identified on several online sources:

This is called Supernatural Dream with model Azizi Johari (one of the sources ==> “Supernatural Dream”).

Made 2 versions of The Overlook letterhead:
tumblr_m9p29bXDqr1r858p5o1_1280.jpg Overlook Hotel Letter Clean v1.png Overlook Hotel Letter Clean v2.png Overlook Hotel Letter Weathered v1.png Overlook Hotel Letter Weathered v2.png

The first 2 letters have clean(er) letterhead, but different signature (the original was most likely signed twice because they took several takes), while the other 2 have the xeroxed/weathered letterhead (and the different signature). It is made as standard LTR or 216 x 280 mm.

Also, here's the Snowcat's (Snow Trac) diagram briefly seen when Ullman shows the outsides of the hotel:
Image99.png Image99_3.png Snow-Track Poster 2.png Snow-Track Poster Final.png

Found some user manuals online with the correct variant. The 1st one is just a cleaned up image from that user manual, while the other image has the whole drawing vectorized, all the texts/numbers were replaced with correct-ish fonts and the borders/frames/lines with dots were replaced. The one seen in the movie is big (maybe around 1280 x 1000 mm), I made this to print at 435 x 340 mm.

The thing I remember most?

That enormous can of LIBBY’s corn and that table mounted can opener I haven’t seen before or since.
